I was excited to bring my Toy Xolo puppy here to follow up on his vaccines, and for a wellness check up. Unfortunately, this was my first and last visit with this facility.
They made the entire vaccine schedule confusing for me. My breeder had taken them for their first rounds of shots, and gave me a vaccine card for reference. This facility didn’t even fill out the card to update it. They gave him combined shots, which I was okay with, but it made it very confusing for me to figure out what he needed next.
The doctor wasn’t very friendly in my opinion. She pretty much put a lot of scary scenarios in my head about what could happen to my puppy. I know they can get sick easily, but fear monger isn’t the way to get your point across. She made me feel like I can’t take my puppy out at all anywhere, which is not very good for their socialization. I put him in a sling or simply carry him paws off the ground. You just have to be aware of your surroundings and where you’re putting your puppy in at your own risk.
Since my little one is a hairless breed, I didn’t think it was necessary for flea medication. I was curious about that, and she pretty much laughed at me in a rude way and made me feel pretty stupid about asking that question. Didn’t make me feel comfortable asking any other questions, which is not what I’m looking for when I’m at the vet. My breeder answered most of my questions without judgement, and was a lot more helpful than this facility.
On top of all of this, they clipped my puppy’s nails without asking me. On my way home he kept yelping and crying, I had to pull over only to find blood all over his car seat. They trimmed them so short, he wouldn’t stop bleeding. There I was for almost an hour trying to calm him down at a nearby parking lot. At that moment I couldn’t even make a call to them because of how upset I was. I was absolutely furious. Because of that, I had to rebuild trust with my puppy and his handling once again.
When they followed up about his stool sample days later, they asked me how he was doing (he was very lethargic after his vaccines) and this is how they responded: they told me I shouldn’t have let them give my puppy too many vaccines since he’s so small. Why would they make this kind of comment to me? Making me feel like a horrible dog mom. They’re the professionals, I just did what they recommended to me.
On top of that I wasn’t even aware where they had given his shot (placement on his body) I had to google it. Usually at the vet they give you a paper with all of the information and side effects that can happen. I didn’t get anything.
Lastly, this place is quite expensive compared to other facilities. They overcharge you for vaccines, so I’d suggest you do more research about where to take your beloved pups. They charge way too much for them to be this unprofessional.
Overall I was very unhappy with my visit. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone with a young puppy, especially for those with a primitive breed. Luckily I found a better place that is kinder, patient, and more understanding of my puppy’s breed.
Edit: Responding to the comment made by the facility - if you really cared, you’d call me to apologize. You have my number. A refund would be sufficient as well.

The best service possible! I have been to 4 vets in the Peninsula and they have by far been the best. Easy appointment booking, friendly staff, upfront pricing, the vet visit was fast yet detailed. She listened to all my concerns. I did not feel rushed or ignored or even shamed for my big boy behavior. I finally found a great place! Highly recommend.

This was our first visit for our doggie and she wasn’t as nervous as she used to get at previous vet clinic. We are very happy with the staff and the vet.
