  While the veterinarians themselves are kind and helpful when providing updates over the phone, my experience with the front desk staff has been extremely frustrating. There have been repeated issues with scheduling, billing, and even my ability to access necessary medication for my pet. In trying to stay on top of my dog’s wellness care, I’ve had to speak with multiple employees and repeatedly revisit the same issues without resolution. The communication feels disorganized, and there’s a consistent lack of listening or willingness to problem-solve from a customer perspective. I understand that options for pet care in this area are limited, and this clinic is one of the more affordable choices. However, affordability doesn’t make up for poor customer service. The front desk experience has made an already stressful responsibility—caring for a pet’s health—much more difficult than it needs to be. I would go to another place if i could afford it. These kind of employees are the reason it sounds better to be selfish and NOT have insurance that is affordable, but I love my pet and she needs regular check ups. I hope the clinic takes steps to improve communication, accountability, and overall client experience moving forward. I’ll be picking up my pet soon, hopefully without any issues.

  To the Indian lady working as a receptionist, maybe you can stop talking for a second and listen carefully to what the client is actually saying before relaying information to the doctors. I had to spend an extra 30 minutes here because you told them my dog didn’t need a trim, even though I clearly said multiple times that we do need it. don't forget this place is a rip off. They literally charged me $64 for a 1 inch hair trim. you could get a full grooming for this price. And this is on top of the monthly membership they charge you

  Both my pets -Mina and Bongo get seen at Banfield San Mateo, the staff is always friendly and very knowledgeable. Bongo is a nervous dog and they always make him feel comfortable and relax. Mina loves relaxing on the scale while getting examine and enjoys the welcoming faces. We have been a long time costumer at Banfield.

  The staff was very helpful, professional, caring with my pet, timely and communicative, they did great for my little guy 🐶
