- SFSteven FongJan 5, 20261.0We are on a monthly repeat delivery for prescription dog food. Our last delivery had a ripped bag, which we wanted to return for an exchange. The store was willing to exchange the bag, but all the other bags of food had expiration dates that were long past due. Instead of exchanging ours for expired food, we decided to return the bag and just buy a smaller bag of the same food with a future expiration date, which would tie us over until our next repeat delivery. However, they would not sell us the smaller bag because we did not bring our Vet's prescription. We did not think we needed to produce our prescription because we were just trying to exchange/return/buy the same food. The Petco pharmacy was closed, so they could not confirm our existing prescription and would not let us buy the same food in a smaller quantity. This is ridiculous and have decided, going forward, to have my prescription dog food supplied by someone other than Petco.
