I’ve been coming here for my pup, Lexi, for years now and I’ve loved all the interaction I’ve had. The lobby is welcoming and spacious to give space for other furry family members and they even have a self-serve coffee stand. The front desk staff are always so kind and helpful. In the back of the office, the technicians and doctors are also just as great! Techs get everything prepped before the doc comes in and then the doctor goes over all the recommendations. There’s so much financial help that the options ease any concern that you might have. I highly recommend coming here for whatever little, or big, family member of yours.

I took my dog to have an annual wellness exam and update vaccines, and was my first visit with San Diego Bay Animal Hospital.
The staff was very attentive, friendly, and clearly cared about creating a positive experience for me and my pet. The wellness exam went smoothly, the vaccinations were great, and we left feeling really good about our experience.
Dr. Espinosa was very friendly, informative, and cared about my animal's well being which is all you can ask for. Would recommend!
The pricing was very fair and made in good faith with total approval needed ahead before any work took place. The office and exam rooms were clean.
It can be hard to find a vet that you really like, but after this first visit, we will definitely be back for any future needs.

My dog has been a patient at Mission Bay Animal Hospital for 7 months. He was a rescue puppy from Mexico and was severely dehydrated. I spent upward of $2000.00 for two days of hydration (8 hours a day). He made it and now is a 7 month old growing Weimaraner. He has hot spots currently and called them to make an appointment and they have a new policy where they charge $98.00 as a deposit for the appointment. We are NOT a new client - I can understand that policy for new clients but for old clients (pre policy) - that’s ridiculous. They are on the high side for a Vet office but I overlooked that because of the care they gave our puppy. For me, it gives money first, care last, and zero concern for the patient/owner relationship. There are excellent vets in San Diego and I would never prepay an appointment with any doctor that I’ve established care with - especially if I’ve already paid out a significant amount in the past. It’s a bad policy and they have lost a client.

I had a very disappointing experience at San Diego Bay Animal Hospital and would not recommend it. When I first brought my dog in, I was told the checkup would be $25. However, additional charges were added without much clarity, including anxiety medication for my dog that did not work at all.
On my second visit, I was told they would need to increase the dosage of the anxiety medication. When they took my dog to the back to draw blood, I could hear her screaming bloody murder, which was extremely upsetting. When she was brought back out, I was told she needed even more anxiety medication. Despite me providing both stool and urine samples, they ended up throwing them away and said they couldn’t be used because they were unable to draw her blood.
The staff came across as very dismissive and cold throughout both visits, and I never felt like my concerns were taken seriously. On top of the emotional stress, they continued trying to charge me more for additional services after I had already spent a significant amount of money.
I only went to this hospital twice, but both visits left me feeling sad, frustrated, and uncomfortable with the care my dog received. Based on my experience, I would not return or recommend this place to other pet owners.
