- MMMarie MacKay3 days ago1.0I visited this store (Carmel Mountain) after Escondido Petco refused to accept a coupon for Hills Prescription Pet Food. I knew I had redeemed them at Escondido Petco before, so I pressed the issue when I was there. Cashier called Manager to assist. Manager did not know how to enter coupon into register. He tried and failed... sent me off without discount, and without my coupon (Petco kept it)! I went back to Carmel Mountain and the Manager gave me the discount, even though I no longer had my coupon. I returned to Escondido to retrieve the coupon and was told it wasn't in the store......... it had been sent in for manufacturer reimbursement, even though I'd been denied the discount! What's going on at your Escondido store?? (I don't shop there anymore).

You also will get free vet exams in any Vetco, discounts and specials on food. And great option, especially for large dogs parents, you getting every 9th or 10th bag of kibble for free. Lots of money saved total

The groomer, Ash, and the store manager were rude and disrespectful. After a disagreement during check-in, Ash intentionally cut my dog’s hair unevenly and failed to dry her. It's a ZERO star.

Products everywhere, empty boxes and trash all over the floor, U boats blocking entire aisles but nobody ever stocking shelves. I finally went back today because they have a very large selection of fish compared to Mira Mesa and Poway. EVERY SINGLE TANK HAD 5+ DEAD FISH. I have never seen so many dead fish in a pet store, never seen a fish BEG FOR FOOD like a dog, and I’ve never watched a fish actively die from neglect before. Tanks and filters were absolutely filthy and fish were very clearly not being fed whatsoever. Based on the fish carcasses being at different points of decay and previous review, this has been a known issue for months and even years. The most disgusting Petco I’ve ever seen, hands down.
