    Total waste of my time. Petco has somehow figured out a way to make getting special food more difficult than going during my vets limited hours. I have a cat with severe allergies, and he needs special food, specifically Hills Z/D. This normally requires a prescription, and the only place I could get it was through a vet. Then joy of joys Petco starts carrying it, and I have an easy backup option when the vet is closed. Could not have been further from the truth. Despite it being on the shelf in the main body of the store, the checkout requires a prescription, notifying me only after I had waited in line to check out. I’m told I need to go to my vet and get a script. This is key, I was told to go to my vet. A couple weeks later, I’ve been to the vet, got my script, and need to pick up more food on my way home. Find the food on the shelf, wait in line again, get to the register, script in hand, ready to go. Told it’s not just my vet script, but I have to get a special card from the in store vet, to buy the food. The desk was then more than 15 minutes late returning from their scheduled lunch break. But I guess I got my “super convenient” food pick up option in the end.

    I oftentimes get crickets from this location (often times I get it doordashed) On multiple occasions the crickets they have, most are dead and decaying. Have an atrocious smell... and have maggots crawling all over eating the dead flesh. While the dasher could have picked the best container out of the bunch, to consistently keep having old and contamiated product on the shelves is honestly so gross and a cleanliness hazard.

    This is my favorite petco location, all of the employees are always very nice. With that said, shopping at Petco is extremely outdated at this point. To get most discounts, you have to order on the app. The app is extremely slow and will almost always not let me order items/say items are out of stock, and yet I will show up to the store and there is the item I wanted to order. I would almost always prefer to shop myself, but most discounts only apply to orders placed online. This makes no sense to me. It’s almost like customers who shop in person are punished in a way, because they cannot receive most discounts. Overall, it just seems like this company (NOT their employees) is not at all interested in making their discounts easily accessible. Especially for those shopping in person.

    Bad customer service at this location. Was purchasing roaches and they were marked down so we had to have a manager approval at the register. The cashier called the manager 5 times and no response. The cashier told us to get them in the aquatic department and the manager and aquatic specialist were just chatting bad things about another customer when we found them. We told them that the cashier was calling them and they claimed the system was down, however the cashier texted them on his personal phone. They said sorry and the manager ended up helping us. Bad experience had us waiting 10 minutes and had to end up getting the manager ourselves. The cashier was nice and helpful, management not.
