  I love Vetco’s vaccination clinics and go every year for my dog’s annual vaccines. It’s easy to make an appointment and I’ve found if you go on a Saturday evening it’s very quick. The vet and staff are always so friendly. This year was a totally different experience. I went to the Folsom Blvd location instead of the Arden one and went in the morning. I usually get 12 months of Simparica Trio for flea/tick/hearworm prevention after doing the required blood test. The person checking me in gave me a much higher quote than I was expecting and I asked how much the Simparica was… assuming that was driving up the price. She said $510. I paid $401 the year before so asked if I could just get a prescription written after doing the test. She said I’d have to buy at least one month supply in order to get the prescription. That’s kind of crappy, but ok. When I got hime I checked the prices on the Vetco website and it indicated Simparica was $460 and I also noticed I didn’t get the best deal on vaccines because they were done a la carte instead of starting with a packaging and doing an add on for the one that wasn’t in the package. Normally I can count on the staff to package what I need for the best price. I was very disappointed and called Vetco. Unfortunately the rep I spoke to was completely useless and took too long to understand what I was asking for - a price adjustment and to understand why the clinic was quoting different prices than the website. I felt completely unseen and unheard. I have up and went about my day. I’ve been so impressed with Vetco for the last few years and now I feel like I have to be ready to correct them. My lesson learned is to have the prices pulled up on THEIR site and to ask what they’ll be charging me for each item to ensure it all aligns. You don’t necessarily know what you’re being charged for each service until the end when you get a line item receipt. They only give you a total before you get services.

  I took my pup for vaccines because they are so much cheaper that the vet. Staff and doctor were so friendly. I ended up paying at lot less than I planned. My pup and I were in and out in less than 30 minutes. I also picked up mire dog food. Two stops in one..
