I was wanting to buy a goldfish for my tank, but I got lectured on how I need a 30 gallon tank for a goldfish. I had a 10 gallon already set up, and I planned on upgrading my tank soon for this as the goldfish got a little bigger. I’ve had goldfish before, and I know they are dirty fish. I thought it was strange this girl was lecturing me on this as if I didn’t know, as if I didn’t already have the information or researched it. But It wasn’t only the fact she was telling me this information, but it was the tone she was using that felt disrespectful and condescending. Also the tanks were really dirty and it just felt strange that they were saying my set up (which is temporary until I figured out a few things for a larger tank) wasn’t sufficient… I will support other local fish stores rather than here for this reason. The reason why I went here was because I wanted a smaller fantail and LFS store I usually frequent just did not have the size I wanted (I like watching the grow from tiny to large). I will not be coming back again for anything at this particular location.
