It was our very first time at AHRB. We are in awe! Everyone is so efficient and friendly. We recently adopted Leo, he’s a 9 month old golden doodle. Talk about feeling good energy. He wasn’t afraid or uneasy. He walked right in with ease and was greeted with love, smiles and even treats! Gillian checked us in, she was fast and super friendly, we went right into a room, Celia another tech there came in to meet Leo and give him More loves. Which he can’t get enough of. Then he was examined by his new veterinarian friend Dr. McGonagle, She took her time with us, got to know Leo, allowed us to ask any questions we had and even printed out examples of the right foods we should give him. We felt so welcomed and loved. They set us up with an online portal. All of Leo’s information on one APP. Love that! He did such a great job that Tahnee gave him a pup cup before we left. (Leo is winning) We only have great things to say about AHRB. Do yourself and your pet a favor and go here. You won’t be disappointed. We felt very cared for, no sales pitches just genuine love for our fur babies.

Incredibly disappointed in my first time here with my newly adopted cat. About a month and a half ago, I came here to get a regular first checkup for my barely 1.5 y/o cat. I had just adopted him that last week. I do not remember the name of the doctor, but I was told after an oral checkup that he had pretty bad gingivitis (Stage 3-4). I was then told: if not now-eventually- he would need FULL extractions of his teeth. I was stunned. They quoted by nearly 2k+ for full extractions (1.5k-ish for half). He is otherwise healthy with some minor teeth issues that I had suspected at the time (he had some issues chewing food). This was the first cat that I would care for solely on my own other than family cats, and I immediately called the foster system I adopted him from. They recommended I get a second checkup immediately, with a referred vet. This foster system is known throughout California and is renowned for their work. By December of 2025, when I am writing this review today, I have gotten TWO different checkups from two different vets at different locations. - The recommended one from the foster program actually put him under to check his teeth, and they came back with minor (Stage 1-2) Gingivitis recession & ONE extraction. They recommended that I brush his teeth given that it seemed reversible. - The second vet did an oral checkup (just like the doctor at AHORB) and mentioned minor gingivitis that did not seem worrisome. I originally was not going to write this review, but it is plain ridiculous to possibly scare a new client and pet owner into removing their NEW KITTEN'S whole mouth of teeth. Not only that, slapping them with a 1.5k-2k vet bill. I originally thought that maybe this was dependent on a doctor's opinion or view given their experience/education, but really ? A full extraction vs 1 tooth & minor gingivitis. Be for real. And guess what ? The chewing issue that I suspected prior was fixed after his one extraction. He now eats happily, chews, and loves treats. I'm a very understanding person and am very open minded. I hate writing bad reviews and try my best to look at all moving parts. But the more I think about this, the more upset I get. I don't know if this vet is trying to milk your money, or to scare you, or if they're just plain inexperienced and negligent. The great reviews for this place make me sad- because this was not the place I wanted to take my new kitten as an already heavily anxious cat parent. Sad to say, don't recommend. Very disappointed.

Extremely overpriced. After I said I couldn't afford the medication, their demeanor changed and they acted like I was a terrible dog owner. Dr. Nichols actually suggested getting the meds from "Mexico"--twice! And, they didn't bother to say it would be at least 2+ days before the prescription would be available. The price for the meds from them $578. Costco $290. Chewy $226.

This was my first time at this veterinarian office. First of all, the Assistant was awesome. I got a little lost and I called and she directed me. It was very close where I was parked right when I got there she was outside. And ready to bring my dog. In. She explained the whole process I saw the veterinarian and she was very knowledgeable. I will definitely come back here and recommend this place.
