Kardell-Mills (KMCC)Nov 14, 20245.0My then( not now) boyfriend’s dog began having weird symptoms and you could tell he was sick and not feeling himself for a while and going downhill fast. They got us in quickly, we’re very respectful when deciding “being put to sleep” was the best option for the dog. We didn’t want him to be sad and hurting anymore. That was the first experience I had staying with a pet during this type of procedure as our arms and hands were in contact to comfort him. It was VERY HARD not to cry so I did… once given the injection, it was a few seconds until you could actually feel the dogs body relaxing and then his dog “soul” left his body and he was gone, very peacefully. I felt a little relief too because he wasn’t suffering, or in pain and not understanding what was happening to him anymore. He was free of all that. It was one of the hardest things I ever experienced and to this day I constantly think about him and miss him but know he is in a much better place. LOVE YOU STILL BUSTER!!!
