I cancelled my pet insurance at the beginning of the year so this is on them. I won't go back to Banfield. My wife's dog has gotten mange(old dog but her vet figured it out and I was able to get mine squared away after the fact). So the dogs start itching like mad. I take mine into the vet and they think it's a fungal infection so they give me some stuff for it which doesn't help. My wife took her dog to the vet and they did a skin scraping and found the mite. So I go back to Banfield and ask them for the treatment I need. They are confused and another vet(never ever got the same one here) looked at the file and had questions about the previous treatment. The nurse then informed him that "the other vet didn't know what it was so they just prescribed this" which royally pissed me off because none of that was conveyed to me. I understand you can't be sure 100% of the time but you do need to let people know you're not sure and this may/may not work. This was a couple of years ago and I kept the insurance in case of an emergency but I would really hate to take my animals back there due to the revolving vets and poor communication. The techs are all pretty cool though.

I have a female cat that was diagnosed with Cystitis by Dr. Magee 12+ years ago. She gave me medications that would clear my cat's flair-ups within 2-3 days. Dr. Magee left. None of the vets since would give me the same medication because it was shown on male cats who had urinary blockage to not work (wrong condition, wrong gender). Plus, her flair-ups were now lasting 2-3 WEEKS OR MORE. The new vets simply would not listen when informed of what worked. So, I found where Dr. Magee moved her practice to and returned to her. Now my cat is happy, with fewer flair-ups and those that do occur I can take care of in 2-3 days again, and I WILL NOT GO BACK TO BANFIELD! How were the charges? OVERPRICED, since they never did anything for me! The wellness plan became a waste of money.

The Upland location on Foothill closed, so I made an appointment here for 9 am today for my dog’s suspected ear infection. I get there before 9, go the counter, guy comes out asking if I have a question. I have an appointment. Fine, whatever. He says the doctor called out today. Okay, stuff happens. I ask when they were planning to let the early appointments know. He said “they” (whoever that is) started calling my block at 8:35 am. I didn’t get a call. I ask what number they called. He gives me my husband’s number. Fine, except they didn’t call him, either. After so much crap like this happening lately at a lot of businesses, I have no patience for this anymore. Stuff happens and people cancel, but don’t straight up lie to me about calling. Time wasted.
