I was very disappointed with this appointment for my cat. The vet tech was friendly, but when she tried to take my cats temperature in his ear, he freaked out and was very agitated. She attempted to use some calming spray on a towel. But that wasn’t very successful, but I will not go to Petco veterinarian care again. When the veterinarian came in, he didn’t even greet me with any sort of hello and stood by the door, not doing anything to greet my cat. He started talking about my concern of my cat being aggressive toward my daughter and gave me information about territorialism. While this was interesting The main concern I came in for was Oreos claw and his pad. It took him a while to even look at him, and the tech assistant did wrap him in a towel or blanket and put him on the table and the veterinarian checked his heart rate through the blanket and that is the only contact he had at all. I was extremely surprised that there was no. Contact and told that Clip my cats nail, unless he was sedated. I was shocked by this and have never seen a veterinarian with complete inability to have any techniques to help calm my cat down when I said that he’s never had this problem he said yes he has a record of this kind of aggressive behavior. I have never been told this by any one at any facility for Oreo. He told me that he was aggressive for sedation shot for a surgery. Anyway, I held my cat and was able to push his nail out so the veterinarian could see my cat paw and I asked does this look infected and he said no it doesn’t look infected. I said I don’t even know if it needs to be cut. I do the trimming of my cats who Nails and everything is fine and it seems to be getting better. I was just so put off by the fact that this Veterinarian had no interest in doing anything to have an actual hand zone true assessment. I had to pay $90 for a well check and was asked to pay almost 300 more for a blood work analysis and saying that Oreo needed to be checked for his thyroid again. He is on medication and has gained 2 pounds and is completely seeming fine to me in that aspect and had blood work done Six months ago. This veterinarian told me that blood work needs to be done every six months. I was told that blood work only needs to be done once a year if the cat is having concerns. This is not the case. I just felt that this appointment was a complete waste of time other than me getting medication that calms my cat down when my daughter is around. This was a very bad experience and the poorest manner and professionalism of a veterinarian I have ever seen. I’m in my 60s and have had cats my whole life but never experienced this type of care. Will never see this vet again!

The care and professionalism of the staff far exceeded what we expected. We have seen a couple of vets in Petaluma and none have provided the care that the staff at Vetco did. No complaints about other offices, but the staff at Vetco went above and beyond. Cannot recommend them enough! Kathleen and Dr Bacon are amazing.
