  I recently moved from the Hollywood/West Hollywood area to North Hollywood. For years, I used a groomer in Koreatown with a previous dog that I had for 12 years and with the new mini poodle that I've had for two years. I still attempted to use my old groomer, but just the logistics of the distance were too much, so I tried finding dog groomers in the area. I've used one other average groomer in North Hollywood, and then I thought I would try Petco because it's half a block away from my home, and I thought they should know how to groom dogs. Following my first haircut at PetCo, I wasn't satisfied with the outcome. The cut didn't meet my expectations, so I decided to go back to my previous groomer in Koreatown. I did use Petco for washing and brushing once, but this time I wanted to give their grooming service another try. My appointment was scheduled for 9:30 a.m., but someone else was ahead of me, who had a difficult dog It took 15 minutes before I could drop off my dog. I chose the 9:30 a.m. slot because of my work schedule; I had an appointment at 10:00 a.m. I have some feedback regarding my recent experience. Firstly, I find the check-in and payment process to be quite cumbersome, even after pre-checking in, there are still a lot of questions that need to be answered. I believe it would be more efficient if payments could be made through the app. Secondly, I was once again dissatisfied with my dog's recent haircut. It seems like the staff are more like dog cutters than groomers. Although I understand that my dog's hair will grow back, I am not happy with the service. I do not plan on using Petco again, and I cannot recommend it to others. The employees who groom the dogs are nice people; however, I don't think they are very talented or skilled, not as skilled as I'm used to. Additionally, I'm accustomed to paying more for grooming, so that should have been a sign. Just to let you know, I have tipped every time I have gone, even though I don't think they deserve it (except for the wash and toenail clipping). As I am moving out of state in a couple of months, I won't be using Petco in North Hollywood, and I will never use a Petco groomer in any city I move to.

  Genesis is the best! I have two Bernese Mountain Dogs that are both very stubborn. She is very patient and does an excellent job. They look and smell amazing when they leave. She keeps their coats beautiful.
