    My Grooming experience was great. I paid for it & some misc. I was not offered a receipt. I asked for one and was told it would take a lot of clicks and effort to get a receipt and there was a line. I said I might need one and wasn’t happy to not have option. Clerk said - you had one when you left the grooming station (but that was for grooming, not toy I purchased- my total was $189, I think, so good to have info). I asked manager- who I have seen many times - about getting a receipt- as I headed in to get my dog and he said info on purchases are on app. I do NOT see the info on my app, however. Very unhelpful

    worst customer service ever. avoid at all costs. came in for just a bath and gave them some special shampoo to use from the vet. they said it's a $10 extra charge to use OUR supplies. I questioned that but agreed to it. then they said his ears were matted and needed to be shaved as part of the bath and it was another $10 extra charge. I pointed out that his ear fur was extra long because they didn't cut it at his last grooming. and that they nicked his tail which caused an infection and a $800 vet bill. they then told me to leave with my dog and not come back. when I asked for the names of the groomers they said they would not tell me. I said that was bullshit. they threatened to call mall security because I swore. I left but should have stayed to have a conversation with the mall cop about an adult swearing in a store, as if they care at all, just for the fun of it. avoid this place. find a local business to support.

    Guy at checkout wouldn’t let us do a return or exchange on an item my boyfriend had just bought with him. Cashier didn’t give him a receipt (out of paper) and he didn’t have a rewards account. We wanted to either return or exchange for the non scented version, as our pup is allergic to fragrance. It seemed like this cashier didn’t want to help us or anyone else. Super disappointed and will not be purchasing there anymore or using the grooming services. I get that customer service isn’t always great, but customers shouldn’t feel like a burden.

    Store is cute, but had a very frustrating experience. A few months ago, I was getting things for our cat. We both use my partner’s account as we share our pets and he recently worked at Petco before we moved to Monterey. The cashier saw that I was getting cat items and that we had an account, and offered to add that we have a cat for a discount. I agreed because it was implied to just be adding info to our account, nothing else. We’re now stuck paying for an added 12-month plan until May that we cannot afford. We are still recovering financially and credit-wise after our kitty went through FIP and our moving expenses. Now we’re going back and forth with Petco trying to cancel this plan that I never wanted to sign up for. We understand encouraging customers to sign up, my partner worked at Petco and knows the drill, but the lack of transparency and honesty about what exactly was being done, how long it would be, or the inability to cancel is extremely disheartening and frustrating. I was never given anything to read or sign, I don’t know much about Petco and don’t know anything about the plans other than what my partner had already set up at work.
