- SSS SMar 25, 20261.0I had an appointment at 9:30 AM at the Manteca Petco to get my dog groomed and her nails trimmed. Kiki, the manager who was supposed to do the haircut, was very short with me when I asked simple questions. I explained that I did not want the cut too short, and while she showed me a board with options, she said she could not make any guarantees. That part was fine, but the way she spoke to me felt rude and dismissive. I calmly repeated that I just did not want it too short, and she seemed irritated the whole time. I even thought about just getting my dog’s nails trimmed, but her attitude made me uncomfortable. She quickly dismissed me and told me to go to a private salon, even though I had no attitude at all. She also forgot to remove the collar they had put on my dog, and I had to go back into the store to return it. When I asked to speak to a store manager, another employee was also rude. On top of that, no one was warm or welcoming to my dog. They did not greet her or show any kind of friendliness. The staff all seemed unhappy to be there, and it made the whole environment feel off. There were also several large, very hyper dogs around, and my dog is a small 11 pound bichon, which made me nervous. When I asked how they handle grooming with different sized dogs, I did not get a clear answer. Overall, the customer service and environment were very disappointing. I did not feel comfortable leaving my dog there. I will be finding another salon.
