- JKJennifer K.Nov 15, 20255.0The staff at this store literally saved my dog's life. We were at the Vetco Clinic on the rainiest Saturday morning LA has seen in long time. They were finishing up Milo's vaccinations and he slipped out of his collar while on the leash I was holding. He was already a bit nervous and the rain didn't help. He ran straight for the front door and slipped out just as they activated the emergency door closure system (which is great that Petco has this). He ran into the parking lot and La Tijera and with oncoming cars in the pouring rain. The staff and I chased him for several long blocks and literally sprinted till we couldn't breathe. They were all helping and yelling to stop cars, it was mayhem. One of the staff (Ashley) ran like a champ and caught up to Milo first and held him in place till we could catch up. One staff member even got in his truck, just in case it turned into a long distance chase. Even the other customers tried to help and block him. This is literally the best staff and community that cares about pets and willing to go the extra mile to help catch my loose and freaked out dog. The vet (Erica, I think) was awesome, Ashley, Amy, Aolani, two of the guys whose names I didn't get, and the cashier, Rachel, too. I am eternally grateful to all of them as this could've turned into an incredibly sad day, as any dog parent could imagine. This group of people deserve every commendation possible for their incredible effort and heart. I am so deeply humbled and indebted to them. Is five stars enough? I would give the staff at this store and the clinic a thousand stars if I could. Thank you!!
