So I’ve been using Critter Creek since I adopted my dog from a rescue shelter in 2020 and they’re great!! Except for one visit where I wound up leaving with something that I specifically told Dr. Schneider that I couldn’t afford at the time. At my most recent visit on 9/9/25 I wound up having to see a technician for my dogs vaccination appointment because I guess the vets were too busy, but that’s alright, except that my appointment was 30 minutes late. I also asked the receptionist to add a note to my office visit to see if they could recommend some kind of calming dog treats for my dog and she told me that the vet would reach out to me with the information, which hasn’t happened yet……..

Had to have an emergency appointment for our dog. First time here. Nice, clean facility. All staff were kind and professional. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars was the eye watering bill - over $600 for exam and x-ray.

Recommended by a friend and a family member. First impressions are everything and Critter Creek hit it out of the ballpark. Personal, caring, and also conscious that as health care expenses are climbing, they give you different options to help you decide the best course of action to take with your pet.

I called and inquired if they do amputations on kitty tails (our kitty is four weeks old) and explained that my cat had a broken tip. I had this done once before on a nother cat of mine, so I knew the drill. I was told over the phont that they do take care of those issues, but it may not be able to be done today, but they were happy to look at him.
When we arrived, we did note the office looks very nice and professional, however, I highly question the sincerity of the staff towards their clients and pets.
No one was in the office, no bell to ring for service. Me and another client just stood there waiting for someone to show up in the office for about 6 minutes. When two people came out I was not even acknowledged. The first lady was there to pick up her cat from boarding. She was helped and left and I was still standing there with no acknowledgement while both sat behind the desk. I ended up saying, "Hi, I have an appointment at 5:30. She said, "Ok, yeah, sit down someone will call you." I sat for 25 minutes after our appointment time and a gal came from the back and you could instantly tell she was not in a good mood. We got back to a room and typically staff would woo over your animal and love the animal and say how cute etc. This lady wanted nothing to do with our pet and said, "so what are you doing here". WOW, really? No introduction of whom you are or your title or what you do etc.? So, I explained again and she said that my cat would need a full body x-ray at the tune of $650.00. Industry norm is a max of $350.00 and I didn't need a full body x-ray. Then she said that they didn't do amputations. I informed her that when I called I was told that you did. She informed me that it was a complex procedure and I informed her it actually is not and most vets do it. She became very argumentative and asked me what I was feeding my cat. I said Fancy Feast. She went off on me and told me how I am not feeding him right and that he needs kitten food til he is one years old and oh my god she can't even vaccinate him at this point. I said, " You need to calm down. I feed him Fancy Feast Kitten and I am not hear for vaccinations as I feel he is too little and that is not what I am here for as he can have his vaccinations when he is not in distress over this tail break." She about lost her mind and insisted that he wasn't too young for vaccinations.
I was done at that point. I didn't even get a chance to talk to an actual vet because I was beyond done at this point.
The ego, the price gouging to get every service so they can collect was horrendous when all I wanted was to get my baby kitten card for with his tail.
I then started wrapping my kitten back in his blanket and she said, "Are you leaving?" I told her I was and she yelled down the hall at me and said, "You need to give that can to a shelter!"
I left. There are plenty of vets that can do this job without price gouging and if they couldn't do the job then why did they say they could? Was it to get me to go to two places so they could get the money for the x-ray before referring me? Who knows, but I am so tired of vets having ego issues and bilking people for money. Don't let the $25.00 office discount fee fool you.
