- SDSteven DinhNov 30, 20251.0I was at the Petco Store on Adams Avenue in Huntington Beach this morning to pick up my online order. I walked into the checkout area and saw a young man. He stared at me and asked, "What are you here for?' Very authoritarian the way he stared at me and the way he asked. Employees at the store normally just ask, "Can I help you?" but not this guy. I'm Asian and maybe that is how he always looks and talks to minority people. Very unfriendly the way he looked at me and the way he asked the question. I told him I was here to pick up an online order. His reply was, "doordash or online?" Maybe he thinks I'm a doordash person, not a customer. He searched and found my order. He came over and handed me my order when I was trying to open the email on my phone so I could show him the online order email. With both hands on the phone, I asked him to put my order on the counter. He angrily said he didn't have time for it. He could easily walk a few steps to the cash register and put my order there, but he didn't want to do it. I was surprised he didn't even try to verify my identity before giving me my order. I wasn't happy with the way I was treated. I asked for his name so I could talk to the store manager. He proudly said, "I'm the manager." If a manager is arrogant, had no customer service, didn't do his job properly and treated the customer this way, I better go shop someplace else, such as PerSmart. I'm very surprised. I shopped at this store many times in the past and always had a very nice experience with everyone at the store. I'm 75 years old and have never been talked to in such a disrespectful manner at any store.
