I'm extremely disappointed with my experience at this pet hospital and feel compelled to share my complaint to warn others. During my first visit, I specifically mentioned that my dog had something concerning on his skin, located on his left front lower body. Shockingly, despite my dog being there for a full 6 hours, no one at the hospital could find or address it—even though my wife and I could still clearly see it later that same day. It's unbelievable that trained professionals overlooked something so obvious. Things only got worse when my wife took our dog in today for an in-room appointment, which I had specifically chosen because I didn't want to do a drop-off. The receptionist with gold hair was incredibly rude from the start. She bluntly told my wife that the doctor had no time and insisted it had to be a drop-off, without making any effort to accommodate or help. When my wife pushed back, the receptionist rudely stated that was her only option. No one in a customer-facing role should behave that way—it's completely unacceptable. Later, when my wife went to pick up our dog and his medications, they handed over what they said was everything and sent her on her way. But then, someone came running out after her in the parking lot to give another medication they had forgotten. This level of forgetfulness and disorganization is just plain unprofessional and makes me question their attention to detail with animal care. To top it off, when the nurse brought our dog out, he got excited and tried to run to my wife, possibly snagging her nail in the process. The nurse immediately gave my wife attitude, showed an unhappy face, and was unwilling to walk her through the appointment results or even talk properly—despite my wife apologizing for our dog's behavior. It was clear the nurse was annoyed and didn't want to engage at all. Overall, we felt treated unfairly and encountered nothing but unprofessionalism throughout. I'm not happy at all with this place and will never bring my pet here again. I strongly advise others to look elsewhere for veterinary care.

I brought my dog for his comprehensive exam which was included with the very expensive Pet Wellness plan. Which is total of $600 a year and my dog only visit the clinic once maybe twice a year. If you cancel the plan they will charge you about the same amount. Having the wellness plan is not worth your hard earned money if your pet only visit the clinic once or twice a year. Banfield also charges $24 for nail cut and additional $20 for nail grind! ???? Absurd!!!!

*Update* Very thankful to hear back from the manager Kat that Banfield will be creating a protocol for senior dogs including checking blood pressure. Looking forward to hearing how these improvements will help other fur parents. I am writing this review to share my profound distress and disappointment with the care — or lack thereof — my dog and I received at your Banfield, and the completely inadequate and insensitive way my concerns were handled afterward. I brought my 16-year-old dog to an emergency appointment at your clinic after she suddenly became extremely lethargic. During the visit, the veterinarian informed me that they could not perform an x-ray due to a lack of available technicians. They prescribed gabapentin, an anti-nausea medication, and an appetite stimulant — without fully warning me about the possible side effects of these medications or the risks given her fragile condition. Critically, no blood pressure measurement was taken. Given that she was visibly frail, had dropped from 12 lbs to 9 lbs in two months, and was acutely lethargic, basic vital signs, including blood pressure, should have been assessed. The veterinarian also failed to communicate the potential seriousness of her condition or provide guidance on when to seek emergency care, such as sharing a list of local 24-hour ER hospitals. Instead, their casual tone led me to believe that there was no urgent cause for alarm or different action. Tragically, within two hours of administering the prescribed medications, my dog rapidly decompensated and could not even stand. In a panic, I had to find emergency care on my own. At the emergency hospital, I learned that her blood pressure was dangerously low — a vital sign that had not even been checked at Banfield. Within an hour, she died. Following this devastating experience, I returned to Banfield seeking some acknowledgment and compassion. Instead, I was met with defensiveness and rudeness by your manager, Kat. Rather than offering a simple “I’m sorry for your loss,” she immediately attempted to shift blame, incorrectly claiming I had refused treatment — when, in fact, I agreed to the x-ray your team suggested but was told it could not be performed due to inadequate staffing. Additionally, Kat stated that Banfield is a “general practice” and does not typically take blood pressure readings — an alarming admission given the seriousness of my dog’s condition. A receptionist had already contradicted this by stating blood pressure is taken if ordered by a doctor. Whether by omission or neglect, this was a serious failure of basic care. At a minimum, I expected your team to: Perform a full assessment including vital signs, especially in an elderly, severely underweight, and acutely lethargic dog. Clearly inform me of the risks associated with prescribed medications such as gabapentin. Warn me about the seriousness of my dog’s condition. Provide a list of local emergency hospitals should her condition worsen. Instead, I was left to watch my beloved dog suffer a traumatic and undignified death, with no real support or guidance from the clinic I trusted. I hope Banfield seriously reflects on this experience and commits to improving the way it handles fragile, elderly pets — and grieving clients. This is not just a matter of “better customer service,” but of basic professional responsibility and human compassion.

This place has been extremely wonderful with my cat. They treat her so lovingly. I really appreciate how kind they are. I was able to get an appointment the next day.
