We use Banfield and specifically Dr Azad for all of our animals, two cats and two small dogs, and my partner and I are very impressed with the team at Banfield. From the amazing team at the front desk to the technicians and doctors who have assisted us with everything from vaccines to teeth removal to mass removal, we won’t be going to any other vet for our pets. We recently moved to the area and have been using Banfield for the past few months and have been happy every time. Also, the monthly plans they have are definitely worth it especially if you have a senior dog. It pays for itself very quickly an especially if you’re an anxious pet parent who likes to come in for checkups for every little problem (like me!) The animals also respond well to the doctors and technicians here, which is surprising since the vet is usually a high stress place for animals. Cannot say enough good things about Banfield! We bring in Peanut, Mitsi, Spider and Ichabod.

The most unprofessional and poorly communicative staff I've experienced at a pet clinic/hospital to date. Every phone call is short and concise but with zero effort to be efficient and accurate. My number and email was input incorrectly (even in person after numerous times giving the information and giving my license to copy) for my initial appointment so I never got any confirmation communication. In person it wasn't clear how to get the medication prescribed as I was just given papers, told to find out where we we want it and for us to call it in. Just for my grandma and I to be rushed out and left being informed by pharmacies that Banfield has to do this work. Multiple calls today leads to attitude for me not knowing a doctor/nurse needs to call a prescription in. Maybe the Oceanside location or others are more helpful and provide better care but with this socalled relationship established and having to pay again to change, I'll just work with an entirely different company. Wouldn't recommend this location at all.

I want to thank Dr. Azad, Araceli, and Valerie for the incredible care they’ve given my dog, Cooper, over the years. They have always been compassionate, respectful, and quick to return my calls — even for the smallest concerns. Dr. Azad never pushed unnecessary treatments and always kept Cooper’s age and comfort in mind. I truly appreciate the kindness and honesty they showed us through every stage of his life. They are everything you hope for in a veterinary team.

My wife and I had full insurance through Banfield for years, since we first adopted our two dogs. The up side is that the staff was always friendly and there are many California locacions. The bad side: We have always taken our dogs for every check up, shots, training etc. When we moved to Europe in 2021 we had to have our dogs health inspected by the USFDA for a health check up. We expected no issues. When one of my dogs was inspected It was found that he has had a heart defect for at least 2 years. If this had been brought to our attention we would have started him on meds the same day. We were not told. Our dog must be on stronger meds to keep his quality of life and have a better life expectancy since this was not treated sooner. I have no idea why Banfield did not tell us. After digging through his banfield reports we found that it had been documented, but we were told that he was in great health. So... we have mixed fealing and reviews on our experience.

We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.
What kind of appointment do I have?
• In-room appointments: You and your pet visit the vet together. Please arrive a few minutes before your appointment time
• Drop-off appointments: If you have a drop-off appointment, we will communicate a time to drop off your pet. Keep your phone nearby and we’ll call you when your pet is ready for pickup.
