I picked up a bird from the middle of traffic that was hit by multiple cars, it was breathing and still alive, I cradled the bird in my arms and walked across the street and saw Alta Animal Hospital. I was so happy that I was able to find an animal hospital so close by. As soon as the receptionist saw me, she rejected any service, saying they don’t accept birds, when it CLEARLY says they accept BIRDS on the window. I brought that to her attention, and she made another excuse that the doctor was “busy” when no one was there in the waiting room, not a single car was even in their parking lot. I said okay and asked her if I could get some water for the bird as it was bleeding on me, and she said NO and created another excuse that they didn’t have any water. I cannot believe how inhumane these people are! I lost it there and told her how useless they were and she just smiled at me the entire time. What were you smiling about? I have a bloody bird thats still alive in my arms, and you don’t have an ounce of humanity or sympathy to hand me a cup of water??? DO NOT BRING YOUR PETS HERE, THESE PEOPLE DON’T CARE AT ALL ABOUT ANY ANIMAL LIFE! I brought the bird home, cleaned it up with iodine and gave him water, he is napping right now under a warm blanket. ALTA ANIMAL HOSPITAL HAS ZERO COMPASSION FOR ANY LIFE! To the receptionist: I advise you to wipe that ill-timed smile off your face and assume some more dignified empathy for animals, otherwise why are you even working in this sector if you can’t even fake human empathy.

I’d first like to say my reasoning for first coming here was because I had a free visit through my pups adoption agency. Took my 4months old and chi/terrier mix for her first visit to finish up her vaccinations and get her 1year rabies shot and nails trimmed. From first walking in, my first impression was that the lobby was extremely small and quaint. The front reception was just very outdated and everything seemed to be on paper record as there were visible stacks of patient files. Since this was my first adoption and my second owned puppy (lost my fur baby 2yrs ago when she was about 14yo), it’s been awhile since getting up to date with pup shots. Naturally, I had a lot of questions and the office staff looked SO annoyed like I was an inconvenience. So I cut my questions short. When the dr trimmed my pups nails, she was terrified and cuts her nail soooo short, she began dripping blood where he had to apply a yellow hemp agent to stop her bleeding. The dr seemed as equally terrified to trim her nails as much as my pup was (which I was very confused about??) In the pic shown, you can see how short it was cut and how he even misses a nail right after. I noticed it during check out, but didn’t even bother asking to trim it because she was already so traumatized and I really just wanted to get out of there. He also recommended a stool test which I was fine with but in my honest opinion, I felt she didn’t need since she was dewormed before I adopted her. Dr told me that I’d get results right away the next day, so I called for the follow up and was told to wait because they’re busy but it’s been 2 days and still haven’t gotten a call back. I HIGHLY recommend saving your grace and taking your fur baby elsewhere. The environment from the staff felt cold and sterile and overall service was just poor.
