- CHCatherine HighJul 4, 20251.0I’ve taken my pet to this Banfield location twice, and both visits left me seriously concerned about the quality of care and communication. On 7/4/2025, I brought him in for a comprehensive exam and dental cleaning. Dr. Frake called afterward and said everything went well. However, when I picked up my pet, I noticed two front teeth were missing—this was not mentioned during the call. I went back inside, and a vet tech explained they came out during cleaning. I understand that can happen, but it’s unacceptable that the doctor didn’t disclose this when updating me. Even more frustrating, I had included a note requesting they examine his tail for signs of vasculitis, which caused him to lose the tip previously. This was never addressed until I asked about it, and the doctor seemed unaware of the history—despite it being in his chart from a prior visit (5/31/2025), where it was discussed in person with Dr. Atilano. To top it off, his medication was mistakenly charted under a different pet’s record. Errors like this are deeply unsettling. I reviewed his past chart and saw he was diagnosed with stage 2 periodontal disease during his previous visit—something we were never told about. If we didn’t have the wellness plan, we would not return to Banfield. And we definitely will not be returning to this location.

Maybe they could implement a call back situation? UPDATE: They took me off hold 2 minutes after leaving this review to tell me they cancelled my appointment. I waited on hold for 30 minutes this past Thursday to make the stupid appointment. Then apparently they called me this weekend while I was working and because I missed the call, they cancelled my appointment :(

What is an Optimum Wellness Plan?
Optimum Wellness Plans are designed to provide annual preventive care. They include head-to-tail exams, vaccines, early screening diagnostics, consultations for proper nutrition, dental care and more! Since wellness plans are not insurance, they do not include treatment for unpredictable or abnormal conditions, however discounts would apply. Because pets need ongoing preventive care, wellness plans automatically renew at the end of each twelve month period (unless paid in full at enrollment).
How do I pay for an Optimum Wellness Plan?
You can spread the cost of your wellness plan across the 12 months of your annual agreement to make it easier to budget for the essential health care your pet needs. Your monthly payments can be automatically withdrawn from a checking or savings account or charged to a credit card so that you don’t have to worry about them once you enroll. We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.

• In-room appointments: You and your pet visit the vet together. Please arrive a few minutes before your appointment time
• Drop-off appointments: If you have a drop-off appointment, we will communicate a time to drop off your pet. Keep your phone nearby and we’ll call you when your pet is ready for pickup.
• Optimum Wellness Plans® Virtual Visits: If you have an Optimum Wellness Plan and scheduled a Virtual Visit, you’ll save valuable time and get quality care from the comfort of your home.
