- MTMario TejadaSep 6, 20255.0My jumbo Yorkie, ChopStix, was groomed yesterday by Liz at Petco on Ventura Boulevard, Camarillo. We purchased the wash and cut package. I’m writing this review to let others know what a great job Liz did. Even though he is 10 years old, ChopStix is our baby. I’m not a fussy mommy, but I like to make sure ChopStix gets great care and that he is taken care of. After drop off, my husband and I hung around the store for a bit because we wanted to see the initial interaction between ChopStix and Liz. The receiving sets the tone for the grooming session, and it’s telling of the demeanor of the groomer. Liz was gentle and unhurried. She made it a point to talk to ChopStix and walked beside him, thus avoiding pulling on him. After a couple of hours, we returned early so we’d have another opportunity to observe Liz’s interactions with our pet. Typically, an anxious boy who does not like nail grooming, we found ChopStix standing confidently on the grooming table and cooperating. As you’re probably already realized, ChopStix has been to many grooming sessions. By far, this has been one of his better experiences. Liz proved to be patient and unrushed. She knew how to read ChopStix’s needs and how to put him at ease. She talked with him as she worked. Her manner is gentle. The cut was short and cute. The nails were well done. We hope this review helps other pet owners as they make their decisions to use this facility. We will use Liz again.
