  My dog gives 5 stars. The groomers do a good job and treat the little guy with care. I'm a repeat patron and the consistency of service and friendly people is what I want for my best friend.

  I took my dog, Pepe, in for the first time over the weekend. Although there was a small scheduling issue, it was resolved right away. Emily welcomed Pepe, and she was incredibly sweet and friendly. I could tell she truly cares about her clients. Pepe received a bath and deshedding, and the results were perfect! He came out calm and comfortable, which was a big plus.

  My calm, well behaved, friendly pekingese came out exhausted and without his nails clipped, patchy all over, and his face and tail weren't even touched for his cut (first picture). The only worker behind the grooming counter was a young guy named Chris. My appointment was at 10:15. He was late, wouldn’t answer the phone at any point before, during, or after when I called, and he just locked my dog up in the back all alone for hours where I couldn't see him and started helping other customers with paperwork. I felt uneasy right from the start and didn't want to leave my dog. I got a text right when I got home, saying that the grooming was done. So I called and no answer, and when I had driven all the way back to get my dog now an hour later, I got a call saying "Woops, wrong dog, he's not done yet." So I popped my head in and Chris hadn't even started on him. My dog was still alone in the back, out of sight, in a metal cage I'm assuming in an unfamiliar place, while Chris was just up at the front desk, messing up appointment times. I got a call from him 3 hours later saying that he couldn't fully groom my dog and to come pick him up. All my dog needs is to be talked sweet to and comforted when he's nervous, which I put on the notes, and which his regular groomer said did the trick, and he doesn't have an aggressive bone in his body. I have previously taken him to Pet Haven grooming every month for the last 6 months that I've had him, and it’s expensive but not once has an issue been raised by any of their groomers with my dog. Chris asked me "Is this the first time she has been groomed?" "No, this is the 6th or 7th time HE has been groomed." "Do his other groomers put a muzzle on her?" "Never." He didn't even know my dog's gender after supposedly grooming just my dog alone for 3 hours. He called him the wrong name several times and got his appointment mixed up with others. Anyone could’ve walked out with my dog under this guy’s care. He did not seem competent, even before I got my dog back with an unexplained patchy, lazy groom. Chris and the manager still charged me $40 for a bath, and I had to tell them to bring my dog out from the back, who was still all alone out of sight and scared for no reason while they were trying to figure out how to give me a partial refund. And I put his leash and harness and collar on all by myself while Chris went and hid in the back. This was not the experience I saw when I came by a previous afternoon that inspired me to book a groom here. There were multiple dogs and groomers on display. Now I’m paying even more for my regular groomers to fix what he did. Update: I took him to his regular groomers to fix it the next morning. He came out happy as can be, teddy bear cut like I asked for (to the best of their ability with all the random chunks of fur cut), and nails clipped (second picture). I asked them if Pudding behaved well and they told me, always. And they gasped when I told them Chris said he needed a muzzle. Not worth the price difference to end up with a traumatized dog and owner.
