The grooming experience that we had has been second to none. They put my dogs at ease and even managed to cut their nails, which is something other groomers have problems doing because the dogs are skittish when getting their nails cut.
- SAS AFeb 8, 20261.0I had a very disappointing experience at the Petco - 8220 Rosedale Hwy grooming salon today. The groomer, Elysa (red hair), was rude and unprofessional from the start. She examined my pet and said he was matted and would need to be shaved. I politely explained I was not looking to shave his entire body and would rather handle trimming myself or come back later if needed. I acknowledged that certain areas like the ears and tail might need attention, but I did not agree to a full shave. Instead of having a respectful conversation, her attitude was cold and dismissive. I tried to overlook it at first, but things got worse. When I was leaving, I had trouble opening the exit door and asked for help. She ignored me. After waiting a few minutes, I asked again and she rudely said, “Slide it.” I told her I didn’t want to force the door and risk damaging it. She came over with a very impatient, demeaning tone, showed me, and walked away without any professionalism. I told her she was being rude, and she ignored me again. When I asked for her name, she refused to answer until I asked multiple times, finally saying “Elysa from Petco” in an unprofessional way. I’ve been a customer before, but this experience was disrespectful and completely turned me off from coming back. Customer service — especially when handling someone’s pet — should never feel this hostile.
