I totally get it, when a cute puppy comes in i want nothing more than to play with the pup. But i came in, and the front desk took my extremely expensive puppy to the back while i waited in the waiting room. After about 20 minutes, they came back and said all the vaccines and procedures were done which i got to be ZERO part of.
This could or could not be relevant, but now puppy has a swollen lymph node and here i am thinking of every possibility remembering that experience.
Look i get it, we all love animals here. But when we take our animal to a vet, professionalism is extremely important. This is coming from someone who runs a medical related business.
I'm finally getting to that review and i find this place extremely unprofessional. Everyone loves the pup, and thats totally fine but when i come to the vet, they ask if "can i show them the pup" and take him to the back and then come out 20 minutes later saying "okay everythings done" this is not cool. Only reason i'm not rating this place 1 star is because i PARTIALLY understand because our little puppy is actually super cute but still, professionalism.
On top of that, they were very adamant in trying to get me to sign up for some overpriced program they offer.

I have 3 dogs on wellness plans and my son has 2. We are dropping all 5 dogs off because of multiple problems, but especially because of their medical incompetency.

I was paying for the membership they have here and from my understanding the membership I signed up for was only for a year the provider there was even telling me my plan was going to cancel in February. I just received a call from a rude staff member saying I owed money and in order to cancel my membership I have to pay what I owe which I think is ridiculous! She was not understanding at all. I also stop taking my dog in becouse they where saying my dog had extremely high levels on her liver blood work and they put her on supplements and expensive diet food. Every time I went in it was one thing or another other and I would pay a lot of money. I just think this place was scamming me since my dog was perfectly fine, she’s a happy healthy dog now and then. Would not recommend this place at all!

I am beyond disappointed with the level of care and professionalism at Banfield Pet Hospital inside PetSmart.
We brought our dog in for a concerning lump, and the staff explicitly told us they would perform a biopsy. Not only did that never happen, but we were also told that if we didn’t hear back, we should assume the results were negative for cancer. That is completely unacceptable and irresponsible when dealing with something as serious as a potential cancer diagnosis.
There was zero follow-up, zero communication, and no accountability. When we returned for a checkup expecting clarity, we were then told it would cost over $300+ just to perform the biopsy that we were originally led to believe had already been done. It felt misleading at best and dishonest at worst.
This kind of negligence and lack of transparency is not only unprofessional—it’s dangerous. Our pets depend on us to advocate for their health, and clinics like this make that incredibly difficult. I would strongly advise anyone to seek veterinary care elsewhere if you want clear communication, honesty, and proper treatment for your animal.

What is an Optimum Wellness Plan?
Optimum Wellness Plans are designed to provide annual preventive care. They include head-to-tail exams, vaccines, early screening diagnostics, consultations for proper nutrition, dental care and more! Because pets need ongoing preventive care, wellness plans automatically renew at the end of each twelve month period (unless paid in full at enrollment).
How do I pay for an Optimum Wellness Plan?
You can spread the cost of your wellness plan across the 12 months of your annual agreement to make it easier to budget for the essential health care your pet needs. Your monthly payments can be automatically withdrawn from a checking or savings account or charged to a credit card so that you don’t have to worry about them once you enroll. We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.
What kind of appointment do I have?
• In-room appointments: You and your pet visit the vet together. Please arrive a few minutes before your appointment time
• Drop-off appointments: If you have a drop-off appointment, we will communicate a time to drop off your pet. Keep your phone nearby and we’ll call you when your pet is ready for pickup.
