Apple Valley Animal Hospital was absolutely amazing. They were able to get us promptly to see our cat. We unfortunately had to make the hard decision of euthanasia. They gave me the time I needed with him before and after. I even had my toddler with me. They were so kind in giving her crafts to do and offering to watch her while I said goodbye.

This place is a rip off, took in my dog to get an exam because my dog was limping so his diagnose was lethargic and limping and they wanted to sleep my dog to do an x-ray give all these kind of medication without even knowing what he really has I told them he was limping and he’s not lethargic because he’s an active dog and they were charging me $1000 for all this. They are so ridiculous without a real diagnose. I was expecting them to call me and say you know we need to do an x-ray to actually see what’s really going on But honestly, this hospital is ridiculous and they just care for money. I don’t even know why you guys are giving these people a good review when all they do is check your pets and tell you they’re diagnose when you don’t even know if it’s really that.If I could give them a zero, I will they’re never getting my Service ever again. that doctor didn’t even check my dog and if she even did check my dog she maybe did for five minutes and then she just went with whatever I said and just added lethargic, To say that she actually checked my dog when she didn’t she should be ashamed of ripping off people that actually care for their animals I would’ve payed $1000 for my dog if I knew he was really sick but for the diagnostics that you gave me is ridiculous. It was more medication than anything else that you were gonna do to my dog when you don’t even know what’s really wrong with him.

In the past, I had a good experience with this animal hospital. I brought my boy when he was a year old and ate rocks. Then my girl when she had mastitis. Staff was very friendly and patient when my dogs were scared to be around an unfamiliar setting. Recently I brought my boy again (with the rock eating problem) who was 9 years old. As an older dog they found a few issues with him, which was expected, and obviously was going to be costly. While expressing to them that I don’t have the funds to cover the cost but whatever was needed I would do everything in my power to get it paid for, somehow. And I did! After sedation and bloodwork was done, they expressed to me how healthy everything looked and prescribed antibiotics and pain medication. They felt there was no need for x-rays or anything more. A week later he looks worse. I took him in right away and of course, its going to cost me the same as the previous visit but with x-rays added. As I think to myself, this might be it, I’m not taking him home this time, the doctor comes into the room and says everything is going to be fine and he just needs to poop out the little bit of rocks that are stuck at the end of the rectum and treat him with liquid IV treatment because he’s dehydrated. There was hope in my heart that he would make it. He was so full of life and active just a couple weeks before so he should be back to his normal self soon. About 3 days later still no poop. I called the office and another doctor tells me that according to his x-rays he just has a little bit that needs to come out. So we wait.. 2 days later at 1am, after struggling to go he finally poops. Happiest pooping moment for me. 30 minutes later he is seen breathing heavily and suffering til he finally stops breathing. At that moment he was gone. The devastation I felt seeing him suffer like that will forever haunt me. To be told by medical professionals that he will be ok but I feel as if more could have been done to either help him or end the suffering sooner. I had his x-rays viewed by another vet after his passing and I’m told he was backed up so much that an enema should have been done the day they took his x-rays. He might of still been alive had they tried to do more. I can’t suggest to you not to take your pet to this hospital, because I believe more and more pet hospitals just don’t have the time or get paid enough to care about you or what your pet is going through. I will suggest to always ask lots of questions and get a 2nd opinion. Dont fall for the extra treatments they try and offer that you feel are not necessary. Go with your gut and if you feel this isn’t right, then it’s probably true. I didnt go with my gut. I lost a pet that I care for far more than most humans. When the owner of the hospital reads this, I suggest not wasting your time with a comment because I do not care for it nor will it be acknowledged.
