I went shopping with my mom this afternoon (4/4) and while I was shopping I hear ("loss prevention all eyes on cat") so I looked around to see who else was in the cat section. Call me nosy, but I feel like anyone would have been curious. Anyway, at that point I realized that I was literally the only person in the cat section. Not sure why they did that, because I hadn't done anything wrong. But after that, they were following me everywhere to the point of being absolutely humiliating! Seriously it was the most absurd behavior and it was extremely embarrassing. So I went to the register to pay, and one of the lady's who worked there literally stands maybe 2 feet away from me, and was staring me down while I was trying to pay for my things. This was incredibly rude, embaressing, unprofessional, and unwarranted because I didn't attempt to steal anything! Needless to say, i was made so uncomfortable that i just left, and they told me to never come back! When I literally did NOTHING wrong.

Our family has always had an awesome experience at the 22nd location. Wren has helped me the last few times and incredibly knowledgeable about ANYTHING I ask. Snakes, scorpions, fish, etc. Her answers helped me understand better care for the animals I have at home as well as understanding potential new pets.

If I could give zero stars, I would.
My fiancé took our small 16 lb dog in this morning for a nail trim. The woman who was assigned to him, clipped his nail to the quick on the first one causing him to react. She then tried to do the next nail, and understandably, my dog was scared and reacted again. Apparently, due to her mistake, we are now banned from getting his nails trimmed there.
I have always taken him to Petco because they were very understanding that he was a rescue and timid. They were very gentle with him, well, until today.
If I'm being honest, I find it completely unreasonable to punish us and him because she messed up. But don't worry, I will gladly take him to someone who is actually knows what they are doing and is competent enough to perform a nail trim without causing him unnecessary pain.

Hi, i’m usually not one to write reviews but I was honestly just appalled about the way i’ve been treated both times i’ve come here, the cashiers each time were absolutely lovely! But when it comes down to the man who helps with the fish I didn’t catch his name but he was incredibly rude and dismissive.
My first experience with him was earlier this week when me, my sister and our grandma were shopping for fish. My grandma is hard of hearing which I understand is kind of frustrating but he was very rude to her when she wasn’t understanding him, she would point out fish she wanted and he would talk to her as if she was stupid explaining why she couldn’t get those, which yes I understand that his job but it was the tone he said it in. When she decides her fish she tries to pick out specific ones he blatantly ignores her and grabs different fish. He also fed us wrong information but that’s another story.
My next experience with him was today by myself, he failed to educate us about the fact some fish we got are schooling fish and do much better with their own kind, although we should’ve known that before we bought them he was not welcoming and we felt as though we were bothering him so we didn’t feel comfortable asking further questions. Anyways we want to give our fish the best life so I came back to get a few more, I ask someone else to help and he says he call someone over, the same rude man comes doesn’t say a single word to me so I VERY kindly say “I’m going to do three of these fish but can I have them each in separate bags to acclimate them correctly” he looks at me like i’m stupid and then says “please” in a nasty tone, I look at him confused and kind of astonished and then say “please?” which is only when he does his job. I point out the ones I want he ignores me. There’s more but that’s the main point, the other staff were lovely but I have no idea where this man gets the nerve to treat people like this, especially me who has truly never been rude to someone in my life not even this man. I will not be giving my business here again and will stick to my local petco on houghton where the staff and management are fantastic and extremely helpful.
