That long-standing loyalty makes this experience even more disturbing. Our 1.5-year-old dog was five days post-operative when he developed significant swelling and concerning symptoms. I called immediately. I was told by Alexis that there were no appointments available for two days. I had already emailed photos, and she refused to look at the photos or show them to the doctor (s) who were there. l was then told the photos would be reviewed later that afternoon, and I could expect a call after the doctor reviewed them. It has now been over 24 hours with no response. A post-operative patient with active complications should be triaged the same day. A long-term client raising urgent surgical concerns should not be told to wait two days without meaningful review or communication. When we picked him up after his operation, we were told by the Vet tech that if he had any issues or we had any concerns, we should bring him in immediately. Because of the complete lack of urgency and follow-through, we sought emergency care and incurred over $600 in additional expenses to ensure our dog was safe on top of the $600 plus we incurred for the operation. Fortunately, he is stable. That does not excuse the failure in post-operative support and communication. This was not a scheduling inconvenience. This was a breakdown in care. We will be canceling our wellness plans and transferring our pets elsewhere.

What is an Optimum Wellness Plan?
Optimum Wellness Plans are designed to provide annual preventive care. They include head-to-tail exams, vaccines, early screening diagnostics, consultations for proper nutrition, dental care and more! Since wellness plans are not insurance, they do not include treatment for unpredictable or abnormal conditions, however discounts would apply. Because pets need ongoing preventive care, wellness plans automatically renew at the end of each twelve month period (unless paid in full at enrollment).
How do I pay for an Optimum Wellness Plan?
You can spread the cost of your wellness plan across the 12 months of your annual agreement to make it easier to budget for the essential health care your pet needs. Your monthly payments can be automatically withdrawn from a checking or savings account or charged to a credit card so that you don’t have to worry about them once you enroll. We also offer the option of paying in full if you prefer.

• In-room appointments: You and your pet visit the vet together. Please arrive a few minutes before your appointment time
• Drop-off appointments: If you have a drop-off appointment, we will communicate a time to drop off your pet. Keep your phone nearby and we’ll call you when your pet is ready for pickup.
• Optimum Wellness Plans® Virtual Visits: If you have an Optimum Wellness Plan and scheduled a Virtual Visit, you’ll save valuable time and get quality care from the comfort of your home.
