We had an unfortunate situation with our dog Daisy involving a poisoning scenario. She was not in a good state at all. Loss of motor function of rear legs and blindness onsetting fast. The people at Phoenix Veterinary were very helpful & accommodated us immediately, they were friendly, genuine and honest about the scenario. Everything was thoroughly explained & they did everything they said they would do. They take payment up front (fair enough) on the basis that anything they haven’t needed to do will be refunded. When we picked up our dog, she was so much better, she made almost ideal progress over 24 hours and when we picked her up she was happy, staff were happy too, they gave here a back scratch and said goodbye and true to their word; refunded approx 25% of the bill for tests & procedures that were not required given her progress.
10/10 for service and honesty. You and your pet are in very good hands with this establishment. Highly recommended (someone who very rarely does reviews).

I am incredibly grateful for the care we received at Phoenix Veterinary Referral and Emergency Center. Our dog Coco, a pug, injured her back after getting stuck between the ottoman and the couch. She suddenly couldn’t walk and kept falling over, which was terrifying for us as pet parents.
From the moment we arrived, the staff was supportive, but Angela truly made all the difference. She went above and beyond in every way. Angela was exceptionally kind, compassionate, and attentive, and she immediately put us at ease during such a stressful and emotional situation. She treated Coco as if she were her own, explaining things clearly, checking in on us, and making sure we felt supported throughout the process.
What stood out the most was Angela’s genuine care and follow-up. She personally called to check on Coco, which meant more to us than words can express. That level of thoughtfulness and customer service is rare and deeply appreciated. It was incredibly reassuring to know someone cared enough to follow up and make sure our dog was doing okay.
Angela represents the very best of what veterinary care should be—professional, compassionate, and heartfelt. I would highly recommend Phoenix Veterinary Referral and Emergency Center to anyone needing emergency or specialty care for their pet. Because of Angela, our experience was not only positive, but memorable.
Brought my chihuahuas in and am very glad I did. You can tell Angela, the woman with the dark hair pulled up in a bun and facial piercings, cared about my dogs. Her first concern is the animals comfort and well being. She even followed up with me after I took my dogs home. I think she is exceptional in the field she has chosen and I 100% trust my animals in her care. Our pets need more people like her.

I am incredibly grateful for the entire team at Phoenix Veterinary Referral & Emergency. When we truly thought our elder dog wasn’t going to make it, every staff member and veterinarian went above and beyond to help her feel better and keep us informed during an incredibly stressful time.
The front office check-in staff was so kind and thoughtful when we arrived around 12:30am, and our dog was taken back quickly to be seen. The facility is clean, calm, and comforting, while waiting, I was offered coffee, water, chips, and cookies, which was such a small but meaningful gesture in the middle of the night.
The entire team worked promptly while keeping me updated every step of the way. I truly can’t express how positive our experience was, especially given the emergency circumstances. Thank you all for your compassion, professionalism, and exceptional care, we will forever be grateful.
This clinic has been a mixed bag for me. I once had a positive experience here when I put my dog to sleep. The staff was compassionate and caring. However, I recently had to stop in to help with a client dog, and the experience was far from pleasant.
The staff at the desk was rude and unhelpful. (Just particularly this singular woman) There was a larger woman with black hair, usually in a messy bun, and face piercings. She was one of the rudest associates I’ve ever had to deal with, and she was always there when I needed to stop in. The last two visits we have encountered her and she is terribly rude.
We stopped in to get care for a dog that wasn’t an emergency, but it still needed to be addressed since all normal vet clinics were closed. My associate and I walked in, asked what the issue was, and relayed the proper information. The woman immediately shot back, saying that’s not how it works here. She told us we needed to put the dog in a cone and that it didn’t need antibiotics etc, and that it would be a two-hour wait. She also demanded that they speak directly with the owner before they could take care of the dog, which I completely understand.
However, I was willing to pay the bill and had all the necessary paperwork showing terms and agreements signed from our client, allowing us to make the best care for her dog while she was in our custody. For example, we could take the dog to the vet for treatment if needed.
The woman was completely rude, entitled, and acted like she ran the place. I would not trust her with the complete and total care of any dog brought into her. I have never written a review to bash, but I was extremely upset with her attitude and demeanor. It was like she was trying to refuse me my money as a client.
We did take our pup elsewhere, and guess what? The vet tech and the doctor who did the exam were absolutely in shock with the situation our pup was in. They were completely in awe that Phoenix emergency vet referral didn’t even bother to look at the dog and just said, “That’s not how that works here, and we don’t do that” when I started what our dog clearly needed.
(I am no vet tech or medical professional in the animal field, but I know just enough and have been through these situations enough to know what a dog needs and what care it should receive)
And again, I completely understand there is a process on which they ask questions about the situation, and wait for the Dr to examine to determine how care is received. I also understand care is given based on the most critical emergency in facility that time. However; if she is who is representing the face of this company, y’all should go elsewhere. She gives the company a very, very bad look. I truly wish I could remember her name so you all could stay aware.
