I thought there was a very adorable cat, Angel, who was in one of the plastic kennels where you can’t even reach your hand to say hi. I volunteer at a local PetSmart so I know how these things work. The associate at the front would not allow me to visit with her. At first, she said, you have to sign a waiver to which I said I could of course. Then she proceeded to say you can only see her if you’re interested in adopting so I said sure, yes I’m interested in adopting. And then she reads the cats profile and notices I have cat food and says that she can’t be in a home with any other cats. Listen lady, I get it there are rules. But I just wanted to spend some time with a cat that’s locked in a plastic kennel all day. Why be so stingy about something that helps the animals? The cat clearly wanted out and who knows how long she’s been locked in that kennel. I don’t know why someone who doesn’t care about animals would work at a pet store. Like calm down, lady it’s not that big of a deal. I didn’t catch her name, but she was the younger of the two ladies working at the cash register today. There was absolutely no reason for her to be rude about this and she was. Never going back.
