I’ve had great experiences with Banfield. They take time to explain everything and answer any questions. The health plan also gives me confidence that I can have routine and some unplanned care provided without unexpected large expenditures.

I had a pretty disappointing visit with my dog today. We were coming in for a routine visit and bordatella vaccine. Unlike our usual visits, this time, a vet did not come in to talk to me about my dog. Instead, she was taken back and returned by a tech who had been instructed to push their new access pet insurance plan. I declined four times. I understand the corporate push to have people sign up, but if the care of my dog is to be hindered on whether or not I sign up for an unnecessary $20/month plan, I’ll gladly take her somewhere else.

Went in for a heartworm test for one of my dogs (already pulled the other 3 from this location after Dr. Butlers departure). We called Friday to schedule an appointment and was assured it would be fine he wants not on the medication they previously were supposed to put a prescription in for (which was also in their notes and the confirmed they saw the note). Arrive today and get told they cannot do the test due to his stress. Doctor can’t look me in the eye while explains everything but can happily tell me the schedule to put my dog on for his medications. My dog then comes back into the room Unmuzzled and I notice his back two paws are bloody but I don’t mention it to them because I just want to get my dog and myself out of there. Needless to say we will not be returning to Banfield and have had negative interactions both times since Dr Butler has left.
