- LLLivvyFeb 23, 20261.0Petco is an evil company in general. I would visit this store and think it’s the company, not this specific store. However, take one look at the wall of bettas being sold in ridiculous cups like kids toys and you will see every single one with a likely fatal disease, and nothing being done about it. I decided to try to help a 99% dead betta. Cycled 20 gallon, live plants, large filter, antibacterials, and a saltwater bath later the fish couldn’t survive the torture and abuse it went through at this store. Not to mention the completely abusive rodent, reptile, and fish cages and tanks, evidence of the store being pure profit and zero genuine care for animals.
