I've been taking my 12 year old malinois mix to different Banfield locations since I adopted her 10 years ago (I've lived in 3 states since adopting her). I've always had a wellness plan for her. I've always found it very frustrating that the vets we see never seem to review her records prior to any sort of appointment, they can't even review her medications which she's been on for almost 9 years. I have to ask them if conditions are related to her kidney disease, in which they say, I didn't know she was dealing with that, good to know. While I've been lucky enough to find some good care along the way and techs that do remember her, overwhelmingly I'm constantly struck that I have to go through her entire medical history every time we go in, which now that she also has cancer and we are also close to end of life is quite regularly. Today I woke up to her spotting blood. When things like this come up I've always called Banfield to discuss with a tech or whoever is answering phones what actions I should take. When I called the Higley location I talked to what seems like a newer employee (have never seen him in there before), told him an overview of her most recent history and meds and let him know that these symptoms should probably be noted in her chart but also asked if I should bring her in to be seen. His response was, well I just work customer service, I can take a note for the next time you come in. I said no, I'll just bring her in and hung up. Kidney disease, heavy steroids and pain meds, cancer, new bleeding presenting in urine = I think to anyone, the thought would be this dog should probably be brought in and looked at today. For context, I have a 61 page PDF for all the the tests she's had run over 10 years. She's been treated for a car accident injury, hip dysplasia, arthritis, several mast cell tumors, multiple serious GI events, a thumb removal, along with all regular check ups, teeth cleanings and vaccinations. I rarely go a month without having to bring her to the vet for something. Never once, in 10 years, have I had a conversation with a front desk Banfield tech that was so uneducated or caring. I've always been advised when calling in regarding any question I had. What's more, when I opened the visit summary online I found the (inaccurate) below note: "...called to say p was spotting blood and that she "wanted to let us know" when i asked if she just wanted to note the file or did she need advise i offered a call back from a tech and she very rudely said "i'll just bring her in" then hung up right away." My dog is in the final stages of life. Right now, I'm bringing her in weekly to monitor how her prednisone dosage is affecting her cancerous tumor which isn't operable. After our check in next week with Banfield I will probably to looking for a new location and a new care provider. Was I abrupt? Probably. Was I rude? No. This is a healthcare facility. After 10 years of experience with Banfield, I have come to expect a certain level of knowledge even with front desk techs. It's extremely disappointing to see this level of service and having it noted on my summary paperwork. Giving 3 stars since other techs I've seen at this location have been helpful, but this experience will turn me away from this location moving forward.

I have serious concerns about Banfield Vet Hospital. Most recently, my dog was prescribed Posatex, I followed the directions exactly, and the bottle ran out after only 4.5 doses. Staff acknowledged there “isn’t a lot in there,” but I was still told to pay another $75 for a second bottle, with no real alternative plan for my dog’s interrupted ear infection treatment. This follows another Banfield experience where my dog was left unattended and nearly died after swallowing a leash. Based on multiple experiences, No wonder there is serious concern from the public about Banfield.

I’m so confused. This location has been closed for the past 3 days and I cannot find any reason as to why. My dog was supposed to have an ear cleaning, went to bring him in, and door was just locked and the phone says they’re closed. They confirmed that we needed to bring him on Monday and this was Tuesday.
