- LSLaura SummerlandDec 21, 20251.0I will never set foot in another Petco after being lured in by a Facebook ad from their partner vet company, VetCo. Every other Sunday would be a good time to avoid this store because they have two long lines of potentially unvaccinated mixed dogs and cats with no waiting system to prevent infection. I waited over 45 minutes to be told that I would need to pay over $400 for Symparica Trio in order to get the “free” heartworm test advertised with purchase of Simparica Trio. I was assuming I would have to get 3 or 6, but no, a year, and the price is not at all competitive. It’s a great deal cheaper at Chewy with their upfront promotions. I exposed my dog to potentially unvaccinated animals for a fine print gimmick! Never again! I also noticed that Petco is more expensive than PetSmart. A three pack of my dog’s favorite balls, Kong Squeakair, costs $7.99. At PetSmart it costs $5.49!

- AUa google userNov 29, 20253.0It's just a chain pet store, gone are the days of personal interest boutique style individualized "mom and pop" pet stores with specialties and really knowledgeable employees. As far as chains go, I prefer Petco's main competitor. It seems the other place has better pricing and a bigger selection of items, but in this crummy little town, the other place is another 7 miles further away, so I go to Petco for it's proximity convenience. It's incredibly difficult to find anyone to help me at Petco except the single register is always staffed so they have the obvious priority of getting paid, and they're always first rate at that.

I can guarantee the any Petco anywhere in the US will carry it and this store had a small supply of Candidae brand dog food I needed . While we were there We had our dogs nails clipped and buffed. No wait for us . The groomer took her in immediately. He was gentle and knowledgeable made my dog feel comfortable as possible. Clean and organized store as all Petco stores are.
