My dog has been a patient here for six years and has epilepsy with a history of cluster seizures, requiring long-term Keppra. I called because we were close to running out of medication and I’m currently snowed in while living two hours away. I was told that because it had been over a year since he was last seen, he would need an office visit before any refill could be approved. I completely understood that and agreed he should be seen. I was told I could walk in the same day or the next day, but I explained that I physically could not get there due to weather conditions (snow/ice on roads and I live 2 hours away). I then asked to schedule an appointment for early the next week and requested a small bridge refill to prevent missed doses until that appointment. That request was still refused. What was most difficult was how cold the interaction felt. There was no acknowledgment of the seriousness of his condition or concern about the risk of him running out of seizure medication, especially since they’ve known my dog for years. I understand policies exist, but when a pet has a serious chronic condition, lack of flexibility and compassion can leave owners feeling unsupported. This was especially painful because I’ve had positive experiences here for years. Unfortunately, this interaction left me feeling I had to transition his care elsewhere. Thankfully, I was able to find another veterinarian who will be taking over his care long-term and who ensured his medication continued without interruption.

The doctors are knowledgeable and friendly. I always feel heard and they treat my dog as if it is their own. Highly recommend!
