    Our family has always taken our fur babies to Banfield since we adopted our first cat seven years ago. Our second sweet baby was diagnosed with FeLV as a kitten, so we always knew the heartache of losing him early was waiting out there for us. We had him for five wonderful years and we loved him to pieces, but we eventually reached the point where we had to make the same heartbreaking decision that so many pet owners have to make for their babies. He was losing motor function in his legs and his quality of life was rapidly decreasing with every day. We took our baby to Banfield to say goodbye to him and Dr. Sheppard helped us ease him into his rest. She was absolutely wonderful during what was an extremely difficult, heartbreaking time for our family. She was kind, patient, and even leaned down to tell our sweet boy how good he had done and how much she appreciated being able to take care of him during his lifetime. She offered us hugs, condolences, and a gentle kindness that we appreciated more than we could possibly say. But her kindness didn't end there. A few days after we said goodbye to our boy, I checked the mail and saw that we had received something from Banfield with our address handwritten on the outside. It turned out to be a card from Dr. Sheppard offering her condolences again and expressing how much she knew we loved our baby and how thankful she was that we had given him the life we did. I cannot properly express how much that simple, kind gesture meant to my husband and me. It was above and beyond and was just another reaffirmation that Banfield is the right place for our babies. For her to take the time out of her day to not only send us a card with her condolences, but to send a heartfelt, handwritten note to us meant more than I can possibly say. All of the staff and doctors at Banfield have always been wonderful to us and our pets, but Dr. Sheppard will forever hold a very special place in our hearts for her kindness during such a difficult time for us. Thank you so much, Dr. Sheppard. You are a beautiful example of a veterinarian who clearly entered the field for your love of animals and wanting to help them. You are a credit to your profession and we will be forever grateful for how much you helped ease some of the pain of losing our baby.

    I cannot say enough wonderful things about Banfield, especially Dr. Alexandria Sheppard, vet tech Mari, and the rest of the amazing team — including Nia, Suzanne, Kaitlyn, Chara, and so many others whose names we don’t always catch but who always show us the same kindness and care. Every single person at this clinic has treated our family and our three fur babies — Sam (18 years old), Garth (10 years old), and Madison Elizabeth Taylor (estimated 10 years old) — with such genuine compassion and professionalism. Sam and Garth have been with Banfield their whole lives, and Madison has been cared for here since we adopted her in 2017. Through every stage, Dr. Sheppard and Mari have gone above and beyond to make sure they receive the best care possible. Dr. Sheppard takes the time to explain everything clearly and patiently, which helps my husband and me feel confident about each step of their care. Mari is amazing — warm, kind, and attentive in a way that puts both pets and people at ease. Nia, Suzanne, Kaitlyn, and Chara are always welcoming, supportive, and thoughtful, and the rest of the staff is consistently just as wonderful. It truly feels like our pets are in the best hands with the whole Banfield team. Together, Dr. Sheppard, Mari, Nia, Suzanne, Kaitlyn, Chara, and the entire Banfield staff make an outstanding team. Wade and I are so grateful for the care, kindness, and peace of mind they’ve given us. Banfield is truly lucky to have them — and so are we!
