Before my one-year warranty expired, I brought my computer into the store and was told they acknowledged there was an issue. I explained that I rely on this computer for work and was led to believe that because the problem was documented before the warranty expired, I would be able to bring it back at a later date and still be covered. When I returned with the computer, I was told there was nothing they could do and that the warranty no longer applied. Their solution? A $50 discount on a new computer. That is insulting, especially considering the cost to repair my current computer is essentially the same as buying a brand-new one. Best Buy did not stand behind their product, their warranty, or the information their employees provided. The customer service I was led to believe would “be taken care of” was anything but. This experience has completely eroded my trust in Best Buy, and I would strongly caution others to get everything in writing before relying on their warranty promises.
