Dr. Lisa Newton is a great vet! She clearly cares about animals. I appreciate that she takes time to explain the differences between a necessary medical test and a medical test that will probably not benefit my dog.

If I could give zero stars I would. We live in Magnolia and I chose to bring my blue heeler, Ozzy here because it’s so close to our house. He’s been a healthy boy with no health problems and was bringing him for his annual vaccinations. Our first visit was odd and took a long time for a typical check up, they mentioned they currently had no actual vets and were using a temporary floater veterinarian so I let it slide. The tech who assisted us was odd, and they were making a big deal about him not wanting his shots (what dog does?). I mentioned he gets scared and has never bitten or snapped at anyone before but they were more than welcome to muzzle him if necessary. I also requested they trim his nails and they refused saying that he was too anxious, and I’ve never had a real vet office tell me this before. Usually you bring anxious dogs to the vet to get trims because they can handle it better than a groomer. The whole vibe just seemed like they had never dealt with an animal before and I’ve never had this experience at another vet office. All of this aside, I brought Ozzy in again because he was having horrible breath despite brushing and dental treats and I was concerned there might be an infected tooth. They begrudgingly took a 2 second look and assured me that his teeth looked perfectly healthy. They suggested it might be because he’s licking his bottom… I told them I’ve never seen him do that, and that the smell from his mouth was new and very strong. They sent me on my way and told me to get dental treats (which we were already using and told them this). Fast forward, and his breath kept getting worst so I made the decision to take him to an urgent animal hospital. Turns out he had a serious infection and needs 7 teeth extracted! I am completely shocked that Magnolia VCA was unable to spot this months ago when I brought him in. I feel horrible that I let it progress further and now he is currently under anesthesia having 7 teeth removed and will be on antibiotics and anti inflammatory medication for two weeks. This location is understaffed and severely under qualified. I would not recommend bringing your pets here. There are many better vet offices in Seattle that are qualified and much more affordable.

Avoid. First I brought in my German Shepherd. I explicitly asked not to touch his ears due to the sensitivity. They ignored and did “exam”. Now my dog is scared of vets. Next I brought my cat to get a paperwork to travel. They charged $500 for literally nothing.
