Avoid. First I brought in my German Shepherd. I explicitly asked not to touch his ears due to the sensitivity. They ignored and did “exam”. Now my dog is scared of vets. Next I brought my cat to get a paperwork to travel. They charged $500 for literally nothing.

The techs here are about the only good thing for me to compliment. I just took my dog to another vet to translate test results I received at the VCA Magnolia because the vet couldn’t be bothered to call me until four days after my dog’s test results were back. I called to check in and they said they got the results and will call me back soon. When she finally called days after that, she gave me very minimal information on my dog’s condition which is actually very serious (kidney disease). She said to not do anything about it and recommended against switching to a kidney diet. She obviously didn’t care at all. The vet I’ve seen since has given me a lot more clarity and yes, I needed to switch her diet. A separate time I brought my 12 year old dog in to ask about treatment for her arthritis and they told me to give her supplemental support and didn’t offer any actual diagnostics, anti inflammatory or pain medication. The vet I took my dog to after this visit says that at this age it is best to treat the symptoms as soon as they show up. Not to mention that this has been confirmed to me, to be the most expensive vet in Seattle— BY THEIR EMPLOYEE. The VCA charges based off of median income in the neighborhood meaning— they just charge whatever they want because they can. Ultimately, the communication from this clinic has always been sub par, the service is unfriendly, they are extremely expensive and they really just didn’t seem to care about my pet at all.

After moving in the area -- I transferred my senior diabetic cat, Genji, to this VCA location. I only had one appointment here in June before he unfortunately crossed the rainbow bridge a couple months later, but the care he received here was even better compared to the VCA in Kent (which has since closed). They were very good and patient with him (he was a big boy, and would sometimes take his time getting up), and I've always appreciated that. The vet and receptionist were so kind during my visit. I ended up responding to a marketing email, letting them know of his passing and asked if I could be unsubscribed from marketing mail and emails. They ended up sending me a very kind and compassionate sympathy card in the mail, which I was not expecting at all -- and that helped during a very tough loss for me. I really appreciated the gesture, and solidified that I will continue to suggest VCA to other pet owners because it is clear that they really do care about what they do. The only "con" I can think of is the affordability, but no vet is cheap unfortunately, and they were great about getting me estimates before anything was done. It honestly has been on-par with pricing from other vets I've seen in the past. There were two vets in the area that refused to see my cat at all because he was diabetic and older, which I didn't even know was a possibility. VCA made time for Genji, no questions asked. They even accepted my first exam coupon despite being a prior VCA client in a different location. Thank you so much for your love and care for my cat.

We arrived on time and had to wait 30 min before I finally had to ask the front desk if we would be seen soon because of how long we had waited without anyone letting us know what was going on.. The tech came in 5 min later and didn’t apologize for the wait. When the vet came in she was very nice and did apologize. Facilities were clean.
