If you have a PS5 that you did not buy from Best Buy, Geek Squad cannot repair it. Hopefully this will save someone time down the line.
I know this is not specific to this Best Buy it's just a frustrating experience to get a hold of anyone. They use AI to "better" help you during a call, the AI was confused, it redirected me to a person, waited for about 10 minutes, got sent to sales, I told sales I wanted Geek Squad, redirected and waited another few minutes. When they picked up, they put me on hold again to check the notes from my previous interaction even though my previous interaction was just trying to get redirected to the right department. They had a hard time understanding what a "disk drive" was. I had to keep reiterating that I'm not talking about a game I previously bought there and that I did not buy the PS5 from there, I just wanted to know if they do repairs for consoles not purchased there. While waiting, I checked online for answers, they were mixed. I checked bestbuy.com and it suggested to make an appointment to go in person. With each question I was put on short holds so they can check for me. For in the end for them to tell me they cannot.

Large store and good selection of products.
It is in an odd location as it seems to be part of the parking garage and has other retail places built on top of it. So parking and navigating to the and around the location can be confusing that 1st time.
Staff was great at helping me find what I was looking for and was even helpful in saving me money by talking me down from a product. I know, strange to be talked down to a less expensive model.
The employees were nice, but I didn't realize bestbuy was selling 3rd party items on their website, resulting in a convoluted returns process. I was pointed to an AI 800 number that pointed me to the store and vice versa. The app also pointed me to the store or the number. I found an email address in my paypal receipt so I sent a message there hoping someone helps me get a refund for this defective projector they sent me.

This is the worst store I’ve ever had the displeasure of dealing with, and after this experience I will never be shopping with Best Buy again.
Placed an order. Went to pick it up at the time they told me to, they hadn’t filled it yet and refused to give it to me (it was one singular item which they had in stock). The old man they have working the front register is extremely rude and unhelpful, by the way. Inconvenient, but whatever, figured if I had to wait one more day then I could. It’s now been 4 days. They never filled my order. They currently have the item in stock according to their website. An hour ago, support told me to call the stores direct phone number so they could fill the order. Called. No one answered. Immediately after they ignored my call, I get an email saying they’ve cancelled my order without any further explanation.
Don’t waste your time here. I certainly won’t again. This is a ridiculous amount of stress and headache only to not even receive my order at the end of it all.
Go support Starforge, or iBuyPower instead. Honestly even Amazon is better than these bozos.

Update: it’s now been over 3 days. Phone calls to support resulted in nothing. They refused to give me my order with zero explanation. They just auto-cancelled it, with once again, no explanation. They just wasted several days of my time for absolutely no reason and lost their own sale.
Best Buy is the worst. After this experience I think I’ll simply stick to online shopping.
Last night we placed an order for a PC. Told it would be ready in an hour, showed up about 3 later, it wasn’t ready. They couldn’t tell us when it would be, or why it wasn’t. Okay, whatever. Could’ve been handled better, the old man working the front desk was extremely rude, even his fellow coworkers were talking about it.
Fast forward to today, received a voicemail asking us to “call back about our order.” Give them a call back, it’s a call center based in India. They have zero idea what’s going on in store. They transfer us between a bunch of different guys, who all just share the same sentiment of not knowing what’s going on.
They say they’re unable to give us a direct line to the store; or transfer us to the store. They hang up and tell us we’ll get a call back from someone. So far, still nothing.
It’s getting pretty ridiculous at this point. You either have the computer I paid for; or you don’t. Allow us to pick up the order, or refund me. It’s that simple.
Somehow, Best Buy is more incompetent than places like Walmart or Target and simply haven’t figured out how easy BOPIS is. In 2026? That’s insane, especially for a supposed technology based store.
Next time I’ll give my money to someone like Starforge, at least their computers are guaranteed solid, and something tells me they can handle customer service better than these bozos.
Genuinely: don’t waste your time or money on pickup orders here. I’m sure I could’ve just Amazon primed this to my home by now without any of the headache.
