Stood at the electronic section for over ten minutes with no help. Finally a guy with red hair and world of Warcraft tattoos walked up, and helped the guy who just arrived. Poor customer service. Buying a laptop elsewhere.

Absolutely hands down THE WORST customer service in all of my retail shopping experiences!!! Having been the owner of a customer driven retail business and currently the General Manager of a successful specialty retail store I know all too well about customer service and making sure, for your business's future, that every customer has the opportunity to enjoy the best experience ever when they walk through the front door of your showroom. Especially in a retail environment as we all live in today, where the majority of purchasing decisions are based upon peer reviews online. I'll skip the symantics and get right down to the actual customer experience. To say it was horrible would be complimenting my trip tonight into Best Buy. The store I visited tonight is located in the Westfield Capitol Mall in Olympia. WA, do my night started out having to find parking in an already crowded lot. Fine, I pulled up my big boy pants and found a spot approximately 100 yards to the door. Of the mall. Then it was a trek through the food court and into the store. This is the part that got me. When I walked in I went to the cell phone section (my whole purpose of going into the store in the first place) where an associate was finishing up with two people. Cool, no one else in the department, I'm next. Had my phone picked out from prior research, in and out. He offered to help them to their car with whatever the awkward thing was that they bought. That was the last time I saw anyone near the cell phone department my whole stay in that store. I waited at the counter, which is smack dab in the center of the store. Wandered the three display counters and read the descriptions of ALL the phones on display. When I got done reading about their phones I noticed there still wasn't anyone in the department. No one with a blue shirt on has said a single word to me yet since my arrival. Annoyed at this point I attempt to stand out a little and pace around trying to look as noticeable as possible. Minutes go by and no one has looked in my direction. I give it a few more. When I finally glanced at the time, I had shuffled across the carpet, read every piece of P.O.P. on display, played 3 games of BINGO on my phone with the smashed screen and had taken a call from a friend of mine, for the past 32 minutes and not one time I greeted or even looked at. Over a half hour! I looked around and counted 5 associates wearing blue polo shirts walking about doing whatever a Best Buy employee does (no one had anything in their hands and not one was walking with purpose or urgency so they couldn't have been with a customer) and once again, no acknoledgement or even a glance. I said "HELLO" in a loud voice, nothing. So I left. I went in with the idea of buying a phone and had given myself s $500 spending budget. I have never been into a retail establishment and waited for over a half hour without being helped, looked at or just greeted at least. When you are leasing a premium spot in a shopping mall, selling a product that has to be in the top 3 most competitive categories of retail in the Internet age why on this green earth hasn't anyone even made contact with me? Last I knew employees on the floor there earn a base plus commission. All I can say is it must be one helluva base because they sure aren't making anything on commission. I will never set foot in another Best Buy again. Infact, from this point forward, if anyone asks me for my opinion on Best Buy, I will do everything in my power to make sure they consider other options before Best Buy. It not only made for the worst shopping experience of my life, but has set one not so pleasing tone for the rest of my day. Worst service, messy looking display floor, absolutely no help for the customers and simply the most horrible trip ever to a store.cHey Best Buy, WalMart actually kicked your ass in customer service today and they too got a one star from me. Thing is, I don't put this on the employees. It's squarely on management and admin for poor training. Great job!! Good luck keeping the doors open.
