VCA Peone Pines is the best clinic I have brought my dog Zeus to! The front desk is always extremely kind and warm to me, and always gentle and loving to my dog. All of the vets and assistants that have seen him are very respectful of boundaries my dog sets, but they also give him all the love once hes ready! The vets are also very understanding and willing to answer every question and concern I bring up. I will always bring my pets here, and I recommend this clinic 100% to everyone!

I have mixed feelings about this place.
On the one hand, they offer a genuinely warm and welcoming experience, especially in how they treat their customers and pets upon arrival. Every time I’ve visited, I’ve been greeted with great care. Jeanne, in particular, is absolutely amazing and seems like one of the sweetest people ever. She always takes the time to personally greet us, and it means a lot when she comes out from behind her desk just to pet my dog. That level of care and friendliness is something I truly value about this clinic.
However, what I don’t appreciate is the lack of clarity around payment and pricing. At a recent appointment, it was recommended that my dog receive the DA2PP vaccine in addition to his rabies shot (which was the main reason for our visit). The way it was explained made it sound like a one-time cost, but that I’d need to bring him back 3–4 weeks later for a booster. Fast forward to the second appointment, and as I was leaving, I was told I had a balance due. This caught me off guard espeically since the amount was surprisingly high. I’m not opposed to paying for necessary care, but the pricing and expectations should have been communicated more clearly since I thought I already paid for it. When I asked about the cost, the other front desk staff member seemed uninterested/could care less, which left me feeling disappointed and frustrated about the entire experience.
After reading other reviews, it seems unclear communication might be a recurring issue at this clinic, which is unfortunate because my first experience was so positive. I still plan to return since it wasn’t a terrible experience, but I’ll definitely be more cautious moving forward, especially with the doctor's recommendations. You just never know if someone is giving you actual medical advice or a sales pitch!
Overall, this is not a bad place to go to, but I hope they work on improving their communication skills, showing compassion in confusing situations, and being more transparent around pricing.

Absolutely incredible, did surgery on my cat who was high risk and had no problems. The surgeons here are extremely talented and wonderful people. Highly recommend.

I scheduled my dog for vaccines & a check up. After three phone calls, which included THEM canceling on me, where I reported I am very flexible on scheduling the appointment was held this afternoon.
After charging my card 260 dollars, they informed me if I would have scheduled on a Thursday, it would have been half off. When I pointed it out nothing was said. All I got was an eye roll.
They should have done the right thing and refunded my card 50 percent, or at the very least they could apologized that their staff missed three opportunities to mention a Thursday vaccine clinic to me during CONVERSATIONS where my flexibility in scheduling was discussed.

I just got a new puppy within these last few months. I got a voucher to get her checked out for free and told she would need a rabies and DA2P-Pv booster. I scheduled the free exam and it went great, until I went back up to the front desk. My puppy had received her DA2P-Pv shot but we needed to schedule another appointment for her rabies shot. So we schedule the appointment and i ask how much that appointment will cost so I can ensure I have it, I'm told I'll only have to pay for the rabies shot which would be almost $55 plus tax. I had also asked if that was all she would be needed around the time we are coming in so that way I could get it done all at once I was told the rabies booster was it she would be done until the year mark came up for her vaccines. Upon arrival today (rabies appointment) im told she needs 2 other shots that are past due so im a little frustrated but I ask what the cost is so I can see if we are doing them because I only scheduled for rabies. Im then told and shown I have to pay a fee for the doctor to come in and "give am exam" before giving her a rabies shot which the exam is almost $90 when all the lady did was look at my dogs teeth and legs that took less than 5 minutes to do. I was never told I'd need to pay that $90 I had asked how much the appointment would cost and was lied to. I had asked if my dog needed anything else and was lied to again. If I wasnt lied to I could've have the money to get my dog what she needed while still having money left until my next paycheck instead I now have literally $1 to my name. The part that was the icing on the cake was when I went upfront and was asked to schedule yet another appointment for those 2 shots my puppy needed that she was unable to get and I said no we will not be returning ever again and the lady says oh sorry and left it at that. How about im sorry may I ask why? You can at least act like you give a shit about your customers even though you clearly do not.
