    We experienced a serious example of non-disclosure at the Wireless Zone located at 2234 John Rolfe Parkway in December 2025. Despite appearances, this is not a Verizon store but is an independently operated store selling phones with Verizon plans and services. They have their own policies and practices, and we were actively mislead about them. Learnings from our experience: 1) Verify, don’t trust at Wireless Zone; 2) get a written quote in advance; and 3) shop at an actual Verizon store. We made three visits to this store within a week. First, to shop for phones and understand Verizon’s holiday “free phones” special. Second, to order three phones on that special. Third, to pick up our phones. During those visits we spoke with two different employees. One specific question we asked during all three visits was “what are the costs associated with the free phone offer?” During all three visits we were told by both employees the only costs were taxes. When we picked up our phones, it required 90 minutes for the employee to help us set up the new phones. After 5 or 6 attempts at 11 minutes each to transfer data over wi-fi, another employee told him to use the USB cables included with the phones – which worked. For this we paid almost $210.00. Most concerning, though, was the fact that this charge was not disclosed at any point, nor was it posted anywhere in the store. All WZ documents were sent via email. Hard copies or advance soft copies were not provided (my mistake, as I should have insisted on seeing documentation). I paid a charge which I presumed (also my mistake) was for taxes and didn’t reflect the value of the old phones we traded in that day. It wasn’t until I was home and reviewed the emails that I caught the charges which were not disclosed. After 90 minutes for what should have been a 20-minute experience we were just glad to be out of the store. I’ve tried calling and emailing WZ customer service with no success. I have warned our family and friends about WZ and am posting this review to help as many folks as possible avoid our experience there.

    Abby waited on us and was first rate. She answered questions quicky in a way that was easily understandable. I am normally not happy when I have to go and shop for a new phone. Today was the best experience ever with Verizon. Hats off to Abby and the Verizon Store on John Rolfe Parkway, Richmond!
