I like the store itself, but the employee I dealt with by the name of Ilyas (yes, same name) was just not good. Not what I expect from apple. To start off, he was helping an older gentleman before he helped me. I was waiting for 15 minutes while he tried to sell the guy on the iPad Mini 7. The guy had questions about how iCloud and storage works and the employee answered all of the questions incorrectly and had zero understanding of how iCloud works. I did not chime in as I didn’t want to seem rude, but he told the guy to simply delete all his messages to free up device storage, rather than turning on messages in iCloud to sync them to iCloud (he had 2TB plan). When he finally helped me, to start off, his English was not good. It was bad enough to where I had to say “huh?” or “what’s that again?” because I literally didn’t know what he said. I knew exactly what I wanted (M5 iPad Pro 256gb Silver Cellular) and he was mentioning all the other models to me, including cheaper models. What a horrible sales tactic lol. He tried VERY VERY HARD to sell me on Apple Intelligence, as I was coming from M1. I told him I wasn’t a huge fan of Apple Intelligence, and that I’ve tried it on my iPhone and Mac. He talked about Apple Intelligence for 10+ minutes. He was having my draw things on the iPad, having me type in prompts. I told him I don’t care for it at all and prefer other tools for image generation. He tried to sell me on some app for AI art, I told him I don’t support AI art, and he still pulled up the App Store page, told me to look it up, it was some paid app. When he finally put the order in for them to bring out the iPad he had selected the 13 inch by mistake. He told the girl who brought it “no, I selected the right one, check again,” turns out he did indeed select the wrong one. He told her 256 silver, failed to mention cellular, and they brought out the wrong one yet again. After the correct iPad came out, he tried very very hard to sell me on Apple TV Plus or whatever it’s called. I told him I have no interest, I don’t watch movies or TV, and he keeps recommending me all these series’s and movies. I finally said “no dude, I told you I’m not interested. That means stop trying to sell me, stop pushing me. I just want my iPad.” I mentioned I wanted the Apple Pencil as well, he looks around in the cabinets for 3-4 minutes, then pulls one out. He said “is this one ok?” and I said “I don’t know, there’s only one for this iPad model right?” and he said “oh yeah. You’re right.” All in all very disappointing experience. I was in the store for over an hour, on what was meant to be a quick trip. As a long time Apple user this is really not what I expect and not the standard Apple holds themselves to.

On 11/11 I had begun to have issues with my 2016 Macbook pro, to the point where I couldn't shut it without it shutting down. I only work in Tysons one day a week and scheduled a Genius Bar appointment within half-a-hour of me getting off of work that day. Check-in was super easy and I was directed to sit and wait until someone was available. I knew they were busy and didn't mind waiting, so I sat until someone was available to help me (even if the chairs were super uncomfortable). After a while Irv came over to greet me and start the process of helping me out. He apologized for the wait and immediately started troubleshooting my device to try and resolve the issue. Unfortunately, because of the age of my Macbook (being called "vintage" for having a Intel processor) it could not be easily repaired and instead Irv helped me choose a new model Macbook that would be best suited for what I would use it for. He then got me rung out and handed me over to Gabe to start the data transfer process on my devices. Both Irv and Gabe were absolute gems to work with and managed to make the experience as easy and as smooth as possible - even with how busy they were. Huge thank you again to both Irv and Gabe, along with the entire Apple Store Tysons team!

I purchased a new 11-inch iPad Air (512GB) and Apple Pencil today at Apple Tysons Corner, and the experience was honestly terrible. The employee who helped me was rude, unprofessional, and unhelpful from the start. He hid his name, added AppleCare and Apple Pencil Pro without asking or explaining, and spoke to me disrespectfully, saying things like “You want 128?” when I clearly said I wanted the 512GB model. He also didn’t understand the student discount process and never asked if I wanted a receipt — he was about to walk away until I asked him to print one myself. The entire interaction felt careless and disrespectful. I went there to buy something, not to be disrespected. I really hope the management can do something about this employee because no customer should be treated this way, especially at an Apple Store.

I really appreciate Obi's willingness to help resolve my issue with my older macbook pro. It is having a some sort of software or firmware failure, but Obi has been relentless in trying to resolve my issue. His straightforward communication with me and his colleagues he collaborated with on my very obscure issue has been awesome. He was very knowledgeable in his troubleshooting processes, and his kind demeanor also kept me at ease. Thanks, Obi!

I went to the Apple Store in Tysons to buy headphones and was standing in line waiting for assistance. A salesperson came up to me and asked what I was looking for, so I started asking which option would be better Beats or AirPods. While I was still talking, another customer approached, and the same salesperson suddenly said, “Sorry, I’ll help him first,” and walked away. That’s completely unacceptable. I was in the middle of asking for advice, and he just abandoned me to help someone else. This kind of attitude shows no respect for customers. I’m really disappointed with how poorly I was treated definitely not the level of service you expect from Apple.
