My son went to the Verizon store in Manassas, Virginia on Sudley Road to look into upgrading to a new iPhone. Right away, he was told he needed to be an account manager to do anything. So he texted me and I added him as an account manager immediately so he could move forward.
Even after that, the sales rep was rude. It might have been a busy day, but there is no excuse for talking down to someone or treating them like they are a problem. My son ended up leaving the store because of how he was spoken to and how uncomfortable the interaction felt.
What really bothered me happened after he left. I received a notification that Verizon had accessed my account. There was no purchase, no changes and no reason for them to be in my account at that point. It felt unnecessary and honestly a little suspicious. That kind of thing raises red flags when it comes to account security and trust.
I have been a loyal Verizon customer for probably over 25 years. That is a long time to stick with a company, and I expect better. Even if my son came across a little short, he was trying to handle it responsibly. He followed the process, and I did my part to make sure he had the access he needed. The way he was treated made him walk out, and then my account was still accessed. That is not okay.
This experience left me frustrated. Customers deserve respect and transparency. Verizon really needs to work on both their customer service and their handling of account security.

I recently visited the Verizon store on Sudley in Manassas with my mother, She had gone to the store by herself, but had to call me for help because one of the staff members was refusing to assist her. When I arrived, I discovered that an employee had accessed her wallet and charged her card without her consent, which was both inappropriate and non-consensual. The manager, tried to address the issue, but there was some confusion about the employee’s name. This experience has made me question the trust I have in this location. I hope the store can improve its customer care to prevent similar incidents in the future.
