Out of nowhere, Verizon changed my internet plan without my permission — what they described as going from a “six lane” service to a “four lane.” Ever since that change, my internet has been slow, inconsistent, and constantly disrupting my devices. When I called customer service to get help, I was on the phone for almost two hours. The manager who finally picked up refused to even talk to me unless I told him whether I was recording the call. I live in Virginia, which is a one-party-consent state, so I’m legally allowed to record my own calls anyway — but it felt like they were more focused on controlling the conversation than fixing my issue. Then they told me they couldn’t help me unless I provided the exact date the account was originally opened. I’ve been a customer for years — who keeps records like that? Verizon has all that information right in their system, but instead of helping, they used it as a roadblock. At the end of the call, nothing was fixed. My internet is still slow, my devices still won’t load properly, and Verizon has no problem taking money every month while providing downgraded service. Very disappointed. Hoping they actually step up and fix this, because this isn’t the level of service longtime customers should ever get.
