  We stopped in to upgrade my wife’s phone. The person helping us seemed knowledgeable at first and offered a few suggestions to get the best deal. Right before we were about to finish up, she started pushing Verizon’s bundle with Netflix, Hulu, and Disney+, claiming we’d save money and get the same ad-free versions we already had. My wife told her multiple times that we already had ad-free bundles and weren’t interested, but she wouldn’t drop it. She kept insisting we’d get the exact same thing for less money. Against our better judgment, we went ahead and added it, only because she repeatedly confirmed that the services were ad-free. Almost immediately, I started getting emails and texts to activate the new subscriptions. A couple of days later, I clicked on the link in one of the emails to activate the services, and of course, all of them had ads. Exactly what we said we didn’t want. The salesperson flat-out lied to us. I called the store several times, but they would not answer. Then I called Verizon’s main number, and the rep there confirmed what I already suspected: Verizon doesn’t even offer ad-free versions of these services. She apologized and said the person at the store lied. She also sent me a cancellation agreement and said we wouldn’t be charged since nothing was activated. A week later, I was still getting emails and texts telling me to activate. I tried calling the store again yet still no answer. I called Verizon again and wasted another hour on the phone because whoever was supposed to cancel it didn’t actually do their job. We were charged for the services we never wanted in the first place. Eventually, they said we’d get a refund and no more emails or texts. However, the day after this occurred, I’m still getting texts telling me to activate these subscriptions. This whole experience was a complete waste of time. The salesperson pressured us, lied to us, and now Verizon keeps charging and messaging us about services we don’t even want. It’s obvious they’ll say anything to get you to sign up and hand over your credit card, and then good luck reaching anyone once they’ve got your money. We don’t live close to this store so it’s inconvenient to drive all the way over there just to tell them that they lied to us. I would not recommend buying your phone here.
