A huge shout out to RON for helping my family navigate and purchase 4 new iPhone 17s. He was responsive to phone calls and text messages prior to our meeting. I waited to be assisted for an extended period without any acknowledgment when I entered the store. The employee did not communicate that he was the only one working and continued engaging with others without addressing me. When I finally asked how long the wait would be, he responded, “I don’t know.”
As someone who works in customer service, I believe basic communication—such as acknowledging a customer or saying “I’ll be right with you”—is the bare minimum. While I understand it was New Year’s Eve and that a coworker was late, that does not excuse the lack of professionalism.
I waited approximately 30 minutes, and when another customer walked in after me, the employee assisted her before me, despite the fact that I had been waiting patiently. After I spoke up, he blamed his coworker for not showing up on time rather than taking responsibility for how the situation was handled.
This experience was extremely unprofessional and disappointing, especially since I have never been treated this way at this location before. To make matters worse, the employee told me that instead of coming to Verizon, I should have gone to the UPS Store to return my Verizon Wi-Fi box. This type of direction reflects poorly on your business and discourages customers from seeking assistance directly through Verizon.
