I took my cats here for routine check ups and they missed obvious skin cancer on one for years and assured me it was just a wart. I should have gotten a second opinion. By the time they did a biopsy the work was sloppy and she suffered immensely. RIP Blanche.

I left a review here four years ago and just remembered this incident and checked back to find that my review had been deleted. I'm reposting because people deserve to know.
When my rabbit started acting strangely about using her litter box, I called ahead to ask if VCA treated rabbits. They said they did. This ended up not really being true. I paid $500 to have x-rays done for my buddy and the imaging indicated she had some abnormal masses in her abdomen. Only at this point did they tell me they couldn't follow through on her care and recommended me an exotics vet. When she and I got to the exotics vet, I had to pay for x-rays again because the imaging wasn't what they needed to operate for what they suspected was cancer.
We did have the operation, but despite that my rabbit sadly passed away. A month later I got an email checkup reminder from VCA that I had not signed up for and did not want, which, as you can imagine, was awful considering it was for the beloved bun who had just died.
Minus two stars for claiming to treat exotics if you're just going to send people to an actually qualified exotics vet the minute something's actually wrong, and minus two more stars for a pushy customer contact campaign that ripped open a newly healing wound. I'd subtract the final star for apparently deleting negative reviews if I could.

I took my 2 month old kittens here today and the staff was amazing!! Everyone was so kind and helpful especially the vet tech. The veterinarian spent a good amount of time in the room and answered all of my questions/ concerned. There was even a cat tree for the kittens to play on and treats provided as well. My kittens were comfortable and relaxed here. Highly recommend.

Great Vet care, they are able to see and care for both my cats, one who is overzealous and the other that is an angry mean girl. Unlike the other Alexandria VCA these vets do not shy away from a hissing or growling cat.
