I have been taking my pets to VCA Alexandria Animal Hospital since the 90's. I completely trust them to take care of my pets. They are expensive, but my peace of mind is worth it. I highly recommend them.

VCA Duke St. is very helpful and treats my puppy with lots of care. The staff at the front desk are very nice and hard working. The vets and assistants are also amazing and hard working. My puppy always feels comfortable at this vet which makes me feel a lot better about going. Thank you for caring for my puppy!!!

Fought traffic in the rain to get to my appointment—arrived five minutes late and was told it had to be rescheduled. Fine, I asked for a quick nail trim instead for my 20 lb dog. Ten minutes later, they charged me $70.
That’s not a fair rate for a simple trim. The tech isn’t making $400 an hour—so where’s that money going? I get that running a clinic has costs, but this feels excessive.
I don’t mind paying for good care, but this wasn’t that. It felt like taking advantage of people who care about their pets. Greed isn’t a good look in a profession built on trust.

Took my cat in for an emergency visit, blood in stool, they did not even take her pulse or check vitals, claiming she was hissing and growling. You are the vet!! If you cannot handle a growling cat, what good are you. Find another profession, you signed up to barking dogs and growling cats.
